2014 Fiat 500

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Fiat 500 vehicles. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may not illuminate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."

Risk. A TPMS warning light that fails to illuminate can result in the vehicle being driven with improperly inflated tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will reprogram the TPMS electronic control unit module, free of charge. Owners were mailed July 11, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 80B.

Defect. DLT, LLC. is recalling certain CravenSpeed Fiat Short Shifter shafts sold for use in 2011-2019 Fiat 500 vehicles. The Shifter Shaft may have been improperly manufactured with a through hole for the set screw rather than a blind hole, which may lead to the breakage of the Shifter Shaft.

Risk. If the shifter breaks while the vehicle is in motion, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. DLT has notified owners, and will provide a complete replacement shifter assembly with an updated shaft, free of charge. The recall began July 24, 2019. Owners may contact DLT customer service at 1-503-505-6886.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 Fiat 500 vehicles manufactured June 21, 2010, through January 12, 2016, equipped with a manual transmission. The clutch diaphragm spring may fracture and fail, causing an inability to switch gears.

Risk. If the clutch diaphragm spring fails, the driver may not be able to shift gears or the vehicle may lose motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The remedy for this recall will include the installation of a clutch pedal limiter and a clutch pedal switch. The recall began on November 10, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S34.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Fiat 500 battery electric vehicles manufactured March 8, 2013, to March 7, 2015. The Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) of the affected vehicles may set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that may cause the transmission to unexpectedly shift to neutral.

Risk. If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, the loss of drive could increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EVCU, free of charge. The recall began June 19, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R20.

Message flashing "service power steering, hill climb and ESC" appears on an average of once a month for the last few years. No loss of control yet, but it came on three starts in a row for the first time. Usually goes away with a second start. Making an appointment with a dealer (Putnam) in Burlingame, Ca to diagnose. $250 to scan and who knows how much to repair.

While traveling on a PA interstate, I hit the brakes to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of me and the wheels locked up. The anti-lock system appeared to not work on my Fiat 500c. I hard steered L and avoided a head on collision hitting the trailer in front of me on the passenger side front of the car.

The contact owns a 2014 Fiat 500. The contact stated that while driving on a neighborhood street at 10 MPH, the transmission experienced an abnormal difficulty in the shifting gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact coasted to a stop on the side of the road, and had the vehicle towed to a local independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the shifter cable assembly was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,222.

Dealer saw me that is needing a battery replaced On February 14, I took my fiat 500 E to the dealer for repairs. They then told me that it has a bad main battery problems and has to be replaced they gave me a price of $17,000. As a City employee. We do not make that much money. I bought this vehicle for my daughter. She’s is an A honor student.

The contact owns a 2014 Fiat 500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine and TPMS warning lights illuminated and the vehicle began to hesitate while accelerating. On 1/24/2024 the check engine came on. I went to auto zone the same day and they check the alert. They advised the code possibly could be the spark plugs or ignition coil. The engine light went off on 2/6/2024 and I went to the dealership for them to check the code information. The code that appear PCM P0301-00 Active Cylinder 1 Misfire-

The electric vehicle was previously recalled for battery malfunction but now the OBCM module malfunctioned making the vehicle unable to charge(receive power) leaving me stranded in the charging station and unable to go home. The module is the brain of the battery and should have been replaced with the battery if it's what's causing a similar issue. OBCMFAILED CAUSING BPCMAND EVCU NOT TO WAKE UP . NEED TO REPLACE OBCMAND PROGRAMTO VEHICLE

Vehicle was operating as normal. Came to a stop, shifted car into neutral to rest foot, light turned green, tried to shift back in to gear from a stop and the clutch pressure plate was all wrong, wouldn’t allow the car to go back in to gear. Luckily this happened at 3am and no traffic on the roads. The clutch it self did not go out, other clutch components are the issue. Lots of other fiat owner are all having the same issue. Gives out with no warning.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was not able to downshift and the gear shifter was stuck in neutral(N). The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

While seated in my Car on09/03/2021 my vehicle instrument panels warning lights began to flicker and I would describe it as recycle. This occurred in another vehicle that was taken and towed , except for with that vehicle I jump started the vehicle and it restarted perfectly. I am not near the jump start cable, as I am leaving the country for school. I am currently trapped in a strange city. There are people who keep threatening to have the car towed, but I will be repairing the vehicle. the Battery is a Duracell ultra SL147H6M 12 VOLT SERIAL NUMBER 840821033760. The store was a Batteries plus in Los Angeles CA, the store owners were Hattian or East African , at the time it seems that I was the victim of a ubiquitous sexual harassment case, now being investigate. There are other elements to the circumstances as the car being altered possibly in transit by Car Max from Brooklyn Park Minnesota to Memphis Tennessee possibly by Hispanic individuals as the inventory from "Autozone" shows that the car was made in Mexico, not that it was not, it is just that I thought that the guys telling me this were doing so trying to entrap me, so that they could tow the car, that was what they bothered me about the entire time. THE CLUTCH IS MAKING HORRIBLE NOISES RATTLING ALL THE TIME SOUNDS LIKE FORK OR PRESSURE PLATE. SEEMS TO BE LINKED TO RECALL BUT THEY FIXED TOO LATE

AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE AMOUNT OF 4 FRONT END WRECKS.*DT *AS

KNOWN RETRACTABLE ROOF ISSUE WHERE THE ELECTRONIC MODULE CONTROLLING THE ROOF MALFUNCTIONS. THIS IMPACTS THE ABILITY TO OPEN THE TRUNK FROM THE OUTSIDE. UPDATE TO MODULE CONDUCTED BY MANUFACTURE IN 2015, HOWEVER ANY EARLIER MODELS ARE AT RISK FOR THIS TO OCCUR. FIX REQUIRES REWIRING PLUS NEW COMPONENT, COST IS $1100

BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED ON MY 2014 FIAT 500GQ AT 21250 MILES WITHIN 1 WEEK OF EACH OTHER. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED ON 06/14/2019. I REPLACED THE REGULATOR MYSELF ON 06/22/2019, BUT AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I ROLLED UP MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED THERE AS WELL! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED. THE FAILURE WAS THE SAME FOR BOTH. WHEN ROLLING UP THE WINDOW WHEN THE WINDOW REACHES THE TOP OF THE TRACK AND STOPS AGAINST THE DOOR FRAME THE REGULATOR MOTOR CONTINUES TO RUN FORCING TOO MUCH TENSION ON THE INTERNAL MECHANISM. IN BOTH INSTANCES THE SAME TYPE OF FAILURE OCCURRED ON MY VEHICLE, THIS EXTRA TENSION CAUSED THE CABLE TO BE PULLED FREE FROM THE TOP PULLEY OF THE REGULATOR. A CRUNCHING/GRINDING NOISE IS HEARD AS THE CABLED IS PULLED THROUGH THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE DOOR, FOLLOWED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE WINDOW FORCING THE WINDOW TO DROP FULLY OPEN. THIS COULD BE VERY HAZARDOUS IF IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DURING ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS AS THE DRIVER HAS NO ABILITY TO RAISE THE WINDOW. BOTH OF THESE INSTANCES OCCURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING BUT STATIONARY, THE FIRST WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, THE SECOND WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY.

BOUGHT MY FIAT FROM 1ST OWNER WITH 40,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. 2ND DAY OF HAVING THIS CAR MY FAMILY AND I GOT IN OUR VEHICLE & CLUTCH WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR & WAS STUCK IN GEAR. 3 MONTHS LATER I FOUND THE RECALL ONLINE FOR MY VIN. WE HAD TO PUT DOT 3 BRAKE FLUID IN EVERY OTHER DAY IN THE BEGINNING AND AT THIS POINT WE PUT IT IN AT MINIMUM 3 TIMES DAILY JUST TO BE ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE FIAT SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE THE RECALL SITUATION RESOLVED BUT THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PARTS WHICH HAS TAKEN 3 WEEKS FOR THEM TO ARRIVE. AFTER A WHILE WE COULD NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER LOSING 2ND GEAR, WE LOST 3RD GEAR. TRYING TO PULL ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND MERGE INTO TRAFFIC GOING 65 MPH IS VERY DANGEROUS. ALL THE WHILE DEALING WITH THE LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID FOR THE CLUTCH AND NEVER KNOWING WHEN IT WILL JUST NOT SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 LANE HIGHWAY WHILE TRYING TO DOWNSHIFT TO TURN. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT STOP SIGNS AND STOP LIGHTS & TURNING IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN. MY RECALL APPOINTMENT IS FOR 9AM FEBRUARY 26TH. THE EVENING OF THE 25TH I AM LEAVING MY HOME AND EXIT MY DRIVE IN 1ST GEAR WHILE I AM ABOUT TO START UP A HILL, I ATTEMPT TO SHIFT INTO 4TH GEAR-NOTHING. MY GEARSHIFT JUST TURNS IN CIRCLES FREELY. I AM STRANDED BETWEEN TWO HILLS IN PITCH BLACK WITH ONLY DITCHES FOR A SHOULDER. WE COULD NOT GET IT UP THE HILL BEHIND US SO WE PUSHED IT HALFWAY UP THE ONE IN FRONT OF US ACROSS THE ONCO

MY FIAT HAS BEEN HAVING A ISSUE WITH STALLING ON THE ROAD.. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO MECHANICS FOR DIAGNOSTICS BUT NOT ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN

I HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED ON THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION OF MY 2014 FIAT 500 SPORT DUE TO THE RECALL IN 2016. ON 1/15/19, I LOST USE OF THE TRANSMISSION IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR JUST BEFORE I GOT HOME. AS THE CAR LIMPED TO THE CURB OUTSIDE MY HOUSE, I COULD SMELL THE CLUTCH BURNING. THE STICK SHIFT FELT COMPLETELY BROKEN AND JUST FLOPPED AROUND ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED VIA FLAT BED TO MY FIAT DEALER/SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE SHIFTER CABLES BROKE AND THE CLUTCH DESTROYED. I HAD EVERYTHING REPLACE TO THE COST OF $2,436.60. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET WHILE IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE HAS 40,507 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND WAS PURCHASED NEW. I FIND IT VERY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT AFTER DUE DILIGENCE ON MY PART TO HAVE THE CLUTCH REPLACED VIA THE RECALL, THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE.

I WAS ON A SIDE STREET TURNING L ONTO A BUSY STREET. THERE WAS A LONG LARGE WHITE VAN BLOCKING MY VIEW FROM TURNING. I WAS AT A STOP SIGN. AS I STARTED TO MOVE OUT I DID LOOK BOTH WAYS FIRST. THERE WAS A RED AUTO OVER A BLOCK TO MY LEFT & RIGHT AN AUTO WAS WAY BEHIND TRACKS. WE HAVE A LONG SET OF TRACKS DUE TO BUSY STREET ON A SLANT. AS I TURN, ANOTHER CAR ON MY LEFT HIT MY CAR SO HARD THAT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT HOLD AND I WAS MOVED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT OF CAR & THIS INTENSIFIED IMPACT ON MY LEFT SIDE HEAD TO LEFT DRIVER WINDOW. MY CAR WAS TOTALED. LOC MOMENTARILY, DISORIENTED, TAKEN TO ED VIA AMBULANCE, 2 INCH LACERATION TO SCALP. THIS INITIATED MANY SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS THAT ED NEVER KNEW ABOUT. CT SHOWED IRREGULARITIES TO LEFT BRAIN, I WAS UNABLE TO WRITE LEGIBLE, MY TEXTS WERE NOT UNDERSTANDABLE, MY SISTER STATED SHE HATED TO CALL BECAUSE I WASN'T MAKING SENSE & I FELL CONTINUOUSLY FOR NO REASON. I CAUSED NUMEROUS BROKEN RIBS DUE TO FALLS & ONCE HAD TO BE HOSPITALIZED DUE TO RIB SEPARATING FROM STERNUM. MY PSYCHIATRIST PUT ME ON ADDITIONAL MEDICATION DUE TO DEPRESSION. HAD PT TO INCREASE MUSCLE TONE IN LEGS . JUST HAD A RADICAL MASTECTOMY 5 MO PREVIOUSLY AND I KNEW I WASN'T RIGHT. THE POLICE REPORT INDICATED OTHER CAR WAS GOING 25MPH WHICH CAN'T BE CORRECT. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 30MPH & EVERYONE WHO LIVES IN AREA KNOW OUR TRAINS ARE SO LONG THAT YOU WANT TO CROSS THEM BEFORE A TRAIN COMES. MY CAR WAS NEARLY ON TRAIN TRACKS. I KNOW BY TURNING LEFT, I WAS AT FAULT BUT THE
