Defect. ON CERTAIN FIRE TRUCKS BUILT WITH DETROIT DIESEL SERIES 60 EGR ENGINES, THE BATTERY TO STARTER MOTOR CABLE RUBS AGAINST THE HEX-HEAD PLUG ON THE FUEL FILTER CAUSING INSULATION DAMAGE AND UNINTENTIONAL GROUNDING.

Risk. THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HEX HEAD PLUG ON THE FUEL FILTER WITH A 3/8" ALLEN-HEAD PLUG FREE OF CHARGE. IF THE CABLE IS DAMAGED, IT WILL BE REPLACED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 1, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT E-ONE AT 1-352-237-1122.
