TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DOREL JUVENILE GROUP DESIGNER REARFACING INFANT SEAT, MODEL NUMBER 22-352. THE SEAT WAS MANUFACTURED ON OCTOBER 10, 2008. THE CHILD WAS BEING TRANSPORTED WHILE PROPERLY SECURED IN THE INFANT SEAT. UNEXPECTEDLY, THE HANDLE LOCK MECHANISM DISENGAGED WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE CHILD WAS EJECTED FROM THE SEAT AND LANDED ONTO THE FLOOR. HE WAS IMMEDIATELY TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE CHILD SUSTAINED BRUISING TO THE FACE, SHOULDER, AND LEFT ARM. THE FAILURE OCCURS SPONTANEOUSLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE TYPE AND PURCHASE DATE WERE UNKNOWN.
