2014 Dodge Dart

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles. The shifter cable may detach from the transmission, preventing the vehicle from shifting into the park (P) position and causing a loss of park function.

Risk. A loss of park function may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Vehicles that were previously repaired under recall 19V293 will need to have the new remedy completed. The remedy is currently under development. Interim notification letters, explaining the safety risk, were mailed November 6, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is A0C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 16, 2025.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission.

Risk. If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. This recall will be replaced by NHTSA recall number 25V674. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V34.

Defect. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured February 27, 2012 to January 23, 2014 and equipped with either a 2.0L or 2.4L engine. In affected vehicles, engine oil from the vacuum pump may seep into the brake booster, damaging a component within the brake booster.

Risk. Internal damage to brake booster could result in a loss of brake assist, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake booster grommet for the presence of oil. If no oil is found, the vacuum tube assembly will be replaced. If oil is found, the vacuum pump, vacuum tube assembly, brake booster and master cylinder will be replaced. The recall began on May 9, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R63.

Defect. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured February 24, 2012, to June 16, 2015. The affected vehicles may experience failure of the transmission control module (TCM), causing the transmission to unexpectedly shift into neutral.

Risk. If the transmission shifts into neutral, it can cause loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the TCM and bracket, free of charge. Chrysler issued an interim notification to owners on October 14, 2015. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R42.

Pulling back in to drive way, car wouldn't go into park and just cut off. Took it to Randy Marion Dodge of [XXX] of [XXX], and they're saying its the recall but there is not parts available to fix it because Dodge hasn't released the parts. This my only car I have to have to means of transportation to get back in forth to work. Meanwhile Dodge said they could fix it, but its going to cost me $920. Dodge should be to ones paying for this. They also want release a loaner car or a rental provision. How is this right?????????? Additionally, the vehicle frequently failed to turn off while shifted into park(P). The contact had to cycle the gear shifter between park(P) and reverse(R) until a clicking sound was heard, allowing the ignition to disengage. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was previously repaired by the dealer, but the failure persisted. The contact later discovered that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the dealer confirmed that parts for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable time for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that upon shifting into park(P), the vehicle rolled forward and the system failed to recognize that the gear shifter was in park(P). The contact called the dealer, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. While at the dealer, the contact was informed that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V293000 (Power Train) and the vehicle was repaired under the recall. After the recall repair was performed, the key failed to come out of the ignition switch after shifting into park(P). The contact was forced to move the gear shifter back and forth until hearing a clicking sound, and the key was able to be removed from the ignition switch. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. In October 2025, FCA issued Recall A0C for the shift cable on my daughter’s 2014 Dodge Dart. Beginning shortly after the recall was announced, we contacted multiple Dodge dealerships on several occasions to have the recall repair performed. Every dealership gave us the same response: the replacement part was unavailable, and we would be contacted when it arrived. We were never contacted, and the part remains unavailable. Before the recall could be completed, the recalled shift cable failed exactly as described in the recall. The vehicle became stuck in reverse and could not be shifted properly, leaving my daughter stranded. Because the vehicle could not be fully turned off, it remained in the ACC position, which discharged the battery and required replacement. When we contacted the dealership after the failure, they again stated the recall part was unavailable. I explained that leaving the vehicle unrepaired was unacceptable because it was unsafe and inoperable. The service advisor then told us we could pay out of pocket for a shift cable that the dealership could order and install, along with replacing the battery, and then submit a reimbursement request through FCA’s recall reimbursement program. We followed the dealership’s instructions, paid for the tow, the repairs, and submitted the required documentation. FCA denied the reimbursement, stating they could not process it because the recall remedy is still unavailable. This response is contradictory because the dealership

Bushing fault and disconnection of gear shifter operation.

The current recall shows no remedy and life threatening problem can occur. Since no remedy available, driving this car poses risk to driver or other vehicles on the road.

There is an open recall since last year but no remedy to fix it. a warning light is on my car SERVICE SHIFTER. there is an open recall on this car and they have had more than enough time to come up with a way to fix this issue.

I am filing a complaint regarding my 2014 Dodge Dart involving an open recall related to the vehicle's shift cable/park system. On May 29, 2026, I pulled into a parking space and attempted to shift into Reverse to straighten the vehicle. At that point, the vehicle became stuck in Drive and would not shift into Park, Reverse, or Neutral. I was unable to remove the key from the ignition, and the vehicle could not be safely operated. I had to secure the vehicle using the emergency brake and arrange for it to be towed. After contacting Dodge City of McKinney, I was advised to have the vehicle towed to the dealership for inspection. The dealership later informed me that Recall V34 had been completed in 2021 before I owned the vehicle, but that there is now an open A0C recall involving the shift cable/park system. I was advised that the recall remedy and parts are not yet available The dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that the shift cable/grommet is deteriorated. They stated in writing that the vehicle is not roadworthy and provided an estimate of approximately $756.70 to repair the condition. I was advised that I may need to pay for the repair myself and seek reimbursement later because the recall remedy is not yet available. I have opened a case with Stellantis Customer Care and have written documentation from the dealership confirming the vehicle is not roadworthy due to the shift cable condition. My concern is that the vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive due

My transmission shift cable disconnected and prevented me from shifting my vehicle into park which is preventing my vehicle from shifting or my vehicle even being able to start. When calling the recall hotline for Dodge they said that a remedy is not available and there is nothing that they can do to repair it temporarily until a permanent fix is available. This recall has been acti6since October of 2025 but there still is no fix for the issue. So now I am supposed to go without a vehicle for however many more months which is going to cost me my job because I do not have a vehicle that will start or run. Dodge needs to get on this issue ASAP because I cannot afford to wait for a remedy.

Following up on case/tracking number 11734334 with further evidence that my VIN should be included in recall 15V-800. The auto shop investigated why my brake booster failed and it was specifically because of engine oil leaking onto the brake booster.

My Dart is having the exact braking issue that’s included in the 15V-800 (FCA Recall R63) recall, but my VIN isn’t included in the recall. I just had a local shop tell me that the brake booster is the problem. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost that my local shop will be charging to repair it.

Following up on RECALL NOTICE. Some 2013-2016MY Dodge Dart vehicles may experience a transmission shift cable failure. A failure of the shift cable to maintain connection to the transmission can cause an unexpected and unrecoverable Loss of PARK (LoP) function and/or a vehicle movement in an unintended direction. Safety Risk A LoP function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. No Remedy has been made for this issue. I have been dealing with this issue on my Dart for years.

The vehicle's shifter cable brushing was what was originally recalled. The dealership I visited informed me that the vehicle still has concerns about not being able to recognize when the car is in park. This means the vehicle is still unsafe to drive and a remedy has not yet been released for this. The dealership in question was Sky Dodge in Provo UT.
