Defect. Cruiser RV (Cruiser) is recalling certain 2018 Shadow Cruiser Ultra Lite recreational trailers, models ID225RBS, ID240BHS, ID263RLS, ID279DBS, ID280QBS and ID289RBS. The axles on these vehicles were installed backwards, possibly reducing the braking ability or causing the brakes to temporarily lock up.

Risk. Improper brake function can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Cruiser has notified owners, and dealers will correct the axle installation, free of charge. The recall began on September 20, 2017. Owners may contact Cruiser customer service at 1-866-277-5630. Cruiser's number for this recall is 99.03.13.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CRUISER SHADOW CRUISER TRAVEL TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DIAMOND DECK OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING ITS BOLTS. THE DIAMOND DECK WAS REPAIRED ON MAY 24, 2018. ON JULY 6, 2018, WHEN PROCESSING THE TRAILER'S SAFETY CHECK, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE FACING OUTWARD AND THE STEEL RIMS WERE FULLY EXPOSED WITH NO RUBBER LEFT ON THE RIMS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE TRAILER TO FLAGG RV (66 W BOYLSTON ST, WEST BOYLSTON, MA 01583, 800-678-9278) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. ON JUNE 28, 2019, THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN EXPERIENCED AXLE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT FLAGG RV WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH HAVING AN ABNORMAL ARCH. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. ON AUGUST 12, 2019, BOTH FRONT AND REAR AXLES WERE REPLACED WITH OVERSIZED TUBES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE VARIOUS FAILURES.
