Hello so we bough a car on 12/14/2023 and within 24 hours all these issues shows up with the car they didn’t give us to option to give it back and get something else they wanted to try and fix it but I was also looking at the paper work and they messed the paper work up for the odometer they said 60630 miles on it when I got it at almost 62400 miles and they reported it wrong I’m not sure of next steps to take and on a service report for an oil change it states the miles on 12/8/2022 was 62247

On December 7, 2022 I brought my Pacifica into the dealership because the day prior, my vehicle just shut off unexpectedly while driving. I was unable to get it to turn back on it just gave me a “service charging system” message on the dash. I had my vehicle towed home and it wasn’t until the following day 12/7/22 that I was able to finally start it back up. I drove straight to my local dealer and dropped it off. After a few weeks they told me they were going to replace the hybrid battery as that was the issue. On 1/20/23 I received a message from the dealer stating they had my vehicle back together and running and we’re going to fix a recall issue. On 1/26/23 I received another message stating my vehicle would no longer start and they didn’t know why. It has been 2 months now that they’ve had my Pacifica and as of Monday 2/6/23 they are unable to diagnose the issue

The car lost all motive power on 3 separate occasions on Saturday, Feb 4, 2023. The car is currently at the dealership and we've been told the transmission needs to be replaced. Our family's safety was put at risk as well as the drivers around us. We easily could have be rear ended when when we were on the freeway and lost the ability to accelerate. When we lost power each time we had to navigate to the side of the freeway or exit to avoid being hit by another driver. The dealer has not reproduced it (that I know of) but has said we need a new transmission. My fear is that we are going to get a new transmission that will do the same thing. There were no warnings before the failure. Once the failure happened, the engine and battery lights came on as well as another warning about the electrical system.

11/14/2022: WHILE DRIVING at 75mph, a battery icon appeared in the hybrid info system on left of dash. Immediately after the engine icon appeared, a message that said "shift to P to Start" appeared in the the dash info. The letter "D" along with a red icon of a charging cord also appeared to the bottom left of the electric range readout. ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE CUT OUT WHILE MOVING AT 75mph simultaneous to these images/messages appearing. Following the above, an image of a Pacifica hybrid appeared in the middle of the dash info system. The Pacifica image included a red plugged in charging cord and the message "service charging system". Vehicle was pulled to the shoulder and put in park. Attempted to restart vehicle unsuccessfully for 15 minutes. After vehicle started, it was driven to the closest dealership that had a qualified PHEV tech, Frontier Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Lubbock TX. The error codes wouldn't repeat at the dealer. Dealer informed that, in speaking with Chrysler a part remedy had been determined but would require lead time to obtain part. On 12-08-22, the dealership informed us the repair had been made and vehicle was ready for pickup. The code found and repaired was POE15 and electric heater lock up. At pickup, the vehicle had not been fully charged. When driven out of service, the echarge was 24% and it wasn't depleting during operation. This was abnormal. Drove the vehicle from Lubbock to our residence in Taos, NM. Part of the drive includes a canyon, with tw

The first incident, the vehicle lost power driving down the freeway at 75 miles per hour. That was only at 1,000 miles. Very scary!! Since then, I have had numerous electrical issues- too many to count. There has been front & side sensor collision warnings when nothing is even next to my car. The navigation has not worked the majority of time that I have owned the car. travel for work so I therefore have to look at my phone for directions- not ideal at all for safety. I had had a few instances of an extremely loud humming sound from the vehicle of unknown origin. I have had the control screen frozen & could not turn on heat in winter. I have most of these occurrences on video with my phone. I had sent a certified letter requesting arbitration. I have had no response from Chrysler. I had the car in 7 times to the dealership. They told me they cant fix it & dont waste my time returning until there is recall. I have these incidents in movie or video form. Your form will not allow me to upload these videos- only still pictures.

While driving down a 4 lane major highway where the posted speed limit is 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly flashed "Service Charging System" with the check engine icon came on and the propulsion on the vehicle ceased funtioning. The D for drive was flashing as well. As a hybrid vehicle, the car should transition to gas without incident, but it doesn't. Instead it cut power to the engine leaving me, the driver, scrambling to find a safe location to get off the road, which is not always feasible or safe, endangering everyone in the vehicle and on the road if others are not paying attention to the sudden loss of power and propulsion of the vehicle in front of them. Thankfully, I was able to safely get off the road as a result of some helpful semi's, but not everyone may be in such a situation. Should this happen to someone else who regularly drives across a bridge, for instance, could possibly cause an accident by being unable to pull off at a designated area. I was able to engage the gas engine by turning it off and back on after stopping, but it did not store the "service charging system" error. This was determined when dropping it off at the Chrysler dealership. There are a few stored error codes including a "low voltage differential signal" which also occurred last year when they said they replaced a part in relation to the heating/cooling battery fault on the high-voltage batteries (less than 6 months old at the time) and similar to the recall on the older models. I was traveling at about 60 MPH on a four lane highway in Jan of 2023 when I suddenly lost all engine power. The dashboard reported a charging system error and the "D" indicator was flashing along with check engine light. I was able to get to the side of the road. I was able to restart after shutting all the way down and opening my door. I was able to get home after. The next day trying to get to the dealership it happen two more time. Each time going around 60 MPH. The check engine light was on and the dealership was able to get some errors codes. This vehicle was an buy back for this same reason. I was told the problem was fixed by Chrysler.

Multiple occurrences have happened where I am driving the car on the freeway when the SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM code comes on and the vehicle stalls. I am unable to accelerate and have to pull off onto the shoulder. This is very dangerous as the vehicles on the freeway are going at high speeds. This failure could easily cause an accident or worse. The car then flashes SHIFT TO P TO START and the check engine light comes on. The vehicle is currently at the Chrysler dealership to be diagnosed.

I have a 2021 Pacifica Hybrid in (Vin: 2C4RC1S70MR51943) that has encountered the dreaded "Service Charging System" message 5 times now in the past year, with the past 3 occurrences all happening in the last 3 weeks. Each time the car will not start, and the gear shifter will flash, the red charging light will illuminate on the dash, and the check engine light is on. On one occurrence, I turned the car off, then on again and was able to drive, however the check engine light was illuminated. I ran an OBD scan and the code was P1A21. On another instance, I was driving and lost all propulsion, the screen indicated "Service Charging System" message. Luckily I was on a local road and not a freeway and I was able to pull into the bike lane, still obstructing 1/2 of the right lane. After 5 minutes of trying to restart the car, I was able to move the car and I drove it to Earnhardt CJDR in Gilbert Arizona. When I got there, the check engine light had disappeared. I dropped off the car and to my disbelief the dealership told me there is nothing they can do if they can not replicate the issue. I am not stuck with a van my wife is afraid to drive due to the imminent threat of the car turning off while driving. I have 2 young children and I do not feel the van is safe in its current condition. Yet, the dealer is unable to resolve/replicate the issue. I have videos displaying the issue along with a screenshot of the OBD error code. It appears the dealership does not care about the safety

Traveling on the highway, the vehicle engine turned off. The vehicle would not accelerate and only coast. Driver display says "Shift into P to start" and "Service charging system". After coasting to the side of the highway, I was able to restart the vehicle after shifting into Park but a check engine light came on after the restart(No check engine light was present before this incident). Our safety and others were at risk due to vehicle unable to move. Had there been no emergency lane, our vehicle would have been stopped on the highway. This engine stalling incident had occurred another 6 times within 2 days. Vehicle was brought into the dealership with check engine code P0A43. Dealer said they were unable to reproduce the engine stall and have released the vehicle back. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. No warning lamps, messages, or any other symptoms prior to the 1st failure.

The engine of our 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid suddenly lost power while driving on the freeway. The display indicated "Put car in park" or something similar--but we were driving 65 miles/hour in heavy traffic! I had to pull over, turn the car off completely for one minute, and restart. After restarting the "check engine" light was on. Later in the drive after we stopped again, the "Check engine" light turned off, so all evidence of the error is gone from the car. However, we received en email from Chrysler's automatic system saying the car had reported an error for "powertrain" and we should schedule our service. It was dangerous to lose power while driving at freeway speeds. I am also confused about why the car's error codes went away. The car is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My family of four was driving in heavy holiday traffic at 65 miles per hour when we lost power. It is dangerous to lose power at such speeds in the middle lanes of the interstate. I turned on the hazard lights and crossed three lanes to an exit. Thankfully we were going downhill and the heavy trucks in the slow lanes let us through. My life and the lives of my family were clearly endangered by this incident. This is the second time the car lost power on the freeway and the fourth time we have had the check engine light turn on. The car has about 26,500 miles. I have taken the car to dealer shops for the last three times the car indicated errors. Las

My 2021 Pacifica Hybrid with 19.2K miles threw a "Service Charging System" and Check Engine Light error while I was driving at 65mph on the highway on Christmas Eve in 8 degree weather. The minivan stopped accelerating and the transmission began flashing between P and D. We were forced to stop the vehicle on the highway shoulder, leaving us (2 parents, 2 kids 7 & 11) stranded on the highway. The vehicle then shut off and we were unable to turn on heating or accessories other than headlights and hazards. We were rescued by state troopers given that no tow trucks were available on Christmas Eve. The local dealer claims that the issue was related to the battery, but that doesn't make sense given the car was driving at highway speeds at the time and the alternator should keep the battery charged. I have seen a lot of owners with Service Charging System errors on this forum and believe Chrysler should have some knowledge as to a permanent solution. Without better understanding the root cause of the issue, it's hard for us to feel safe with a battery replacement, since that seems to be address symptom given that a car running highway speeds would keep the batteries charged through the belt and alternator system. My wife is fairly terrified of driving this car at highway speeds without some assurances it won't shut down and I get the sense that the dealer wants to wash its hands of this situation. I have a Chrysler warranty number for this repair, but have not received assistance ye

I was driving in stop and go traffic about 4 hours into a road trip on I95. At around 60mph, an error popped up on the dash saying “Service Charging System” then it quickly went away and said “Shift to P to Start” at which point I lost all propulsion. I was in the left lane and had to make my way to the side of the road with my family of 6 in the car. This was extremely stressful and dangerous as I had no way to accelerate and was stuck to coast. I flipped on my hazard lights and was able to navigate to a safe place under an overpass. At this point, I completely cut off the car and restarted it. It worked fine again upon restart, but the check engine light remained there after. The incident happened again on a side road at around 40mph on the same day. I coasted to a stoplight and had to power cycle the car 3 times to get driving again. The following day, I went to a local Chrysler dealership and they are still in the progress of diagnosing, however they won’t have a response until after Christmas. So, I’m being directed to rent a vehicle until the van is deemed safe to drive again.

On Tue, 12/20/2022, I was driving on I-94 westbound between Moorland Road and WI Hwy 164 at about 60-70 mph. The car suddenly stalled and I lost all ability to accelerate the vehicle. The brakes and steering wheel still worked fine. The dash was displaying a message: "Service charging system. Shift to P to start." This has happened to my vehicle multiple times before. I was in the right lane and the shoulder was clear. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and come to a controlled stop. I put the vehicle in PARK and shut off the vehicle. After waiting a bit I restarted the car successfully. This happened 1 more time on the same trip (but on Hwy 16 as I was headed out to Waukesha County Technical College.) This is definitely safety issue as there was no way to restart the car in motion. Plus, pulling over to the shoulder on a busy highway, particularly with many trucks going by around 50 - 60 mph made me feel quite scared. I do NOT trust driving the vehicle at speeds above 60 mph anymore. This has happened to me last month. I took it to a dealer after that incident but they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. This is now the 6th time this has happened to me.

While driving down the interstate, the moonroof glass spontaneously shattered. There are three pieces of glass on the roof, and it was the center one that failed. The car was about 16 months old with just under 10,000 miles, almost all of which was low-speed, city driving. At the time of failure, we were about 650 miles into a cross-country road trip and traveling on roads with an 80 MPH speed limit. If we had not closed the sunshade the day prior, sharp glass would have fallen on our children seated in the middle row. A Chrysler dealer sold us the replacement part and verified that there were no signs of any external cause that led to the failure. Chrysler denied a warranty claim, stating that "sunroof is most probably an outside influence as it cannot break easily as per IRF (Independent repair facility)."

While traveling on the highway (>70mph), my Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (~44k miles) suddenly lost power and the "service charging system" error appeared along with the instructions to "shift to park". The check engine light began to flash as well. Fortunately, I was able to cross three lanes of traffic in a van with an unresponsive accelerator to get to the shoulder. Once safely on the shoulder, I still could not shift to park and I could not turn the car off either. After sitting for 25 minutes or so, I was able to shift to park and turn the car off and then on again. I immediately took the car to the dealership (using surface roads). They kept the van for 10 days and diagnosed a software issue. I got the van back and for about 3 days it was fine. Then we were driving the same freeway (at speeds of 70mph or more) and the exact breakdown happened again. Chrysler has had the van for 4 weeks now and just informed me that the issues is metal shavings in the transmission; they will be replacing the transmission. This is related to the ODI investigation # PE 22-008

Driving on the freeway, all propulsion suddenly and without warning ceased and the dash declared "service charging system" and the check engine light came on.. My only choice was to coast off to the side of the freeway. My safety was definitely at risk, as I was stuck on the side of the freeway. After several minutes, I was able to turn the car all the way off and turn it back on again. The check engine light was still on. I drove it straight to the dealership, who has it in for service for this error. Prior to this, the van gave no indication that anything was wrong.

I waited several minutes and the van started again but the yellow engine light stayed on. I took it to the dealer where I bought it and it's there now. Yes, my safety was at risk again.

I entered the I-94 west bound from Moorland Rd in Brookfield WI and drove about 1 mile reaching about 65 mph during the busy traffic hours. The car suddenly stalled and I lost all ability to accelerate the vehicle. The brakes and steering wheel still worked fine. The dash was displaying a message: "Service charging system. Shift to P to start." Thankfully, I was in the right lane and the shoulder was clear. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and come to a controlled stop. I put the vehicle in Stop but when I pressed the off button, it would not switch to off and remained in the "run" mode. I tried several times for a few minutes without any success. I waited a minute and then tried again. This time, the vehicle was able to switch to "OFF" mode. I was able to start the car normally without any "System charging system" error coming on. I decided to return home immediately using local roads only. I no longer trust my vehicle on the highway - even if it is only for a short distance on the highway.

On Wed, 11/23/2022, I was driving on I-94 Eastbound headed from Wisconsin to Illinois at about 70 mph. The car suddenly stalled and I lost all ability to accelerate the vehicle. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and come to a controlled stop. I put the vehicle in PARK and shut off the vehicle. I tried to restart it but was unable to. I then unbuckled my seat belt and opened & closed the driver side door (without getting out). After about a minute I was able to restart the car and continue on my way to Chicago. This happened 2 more times that trip. It also happened 1 time on the way back to Wisconsin for a total of 4 incidents in 1 day trip. This has significant safety implications, esp. when one cannot get to the shoulder (or there is no shoulder) to restart the vehicle. I felt very scared and no longer trust my vehicle on the highway. This has happened to me once before earlier this year. I took it to a dealer after that incident. They said the updated all the software but are not certain if this fixed the root cause. I was driving the van on interstate 85 in NC on my way to Charlotte from Raleigh. I was traveling at 70 mph when the van suddenly lost power. I could not accelerate and had to immediately pull over to the shoulder coasting on momentum only. I barely missed being hit by a semi truck as I attempted to get out of the way of traffic. The van remained stalled on the shoulder as I attempted to restart the van. It took 5 tries to get the van off the shoulder and onto an exit where I was able to park the van at a Waffle House parking lot to await a tow truck. Each attempt to restart the van would give me about 30 seconds of power before the van would stall out again. I was traveling with my wife and 4 small children and this was a very harrowing experience and could’ve have ended in disaster with that semi barreling down on us. I received a “service electrical system” on the dash and a check engine light and I had to turn off and back on to get it to restart. The check engine light stayed on and upon continuing my drive home another warning light came on telling me that the emergency braking was no longer operating. The warning light stayed on for a few miles and then went off. I took snapshots I will include. I also noticed that the vehicle was recording erroneous data such as suddenly having an electrical charge of a large percent when I had zero electrical charge. Driving uphill on an overpass at freeway speeds with our kids in the car was very dangerous (especially during weekday traffic in Orange County) but, fortunately, we coasted to a stop safely. The vehicle's other systems seemed to still be working. For example, the vehicle's dashboard was working. OEM equipment wheel locks, incorrectly installed either at factory or dealer, were McGard high security wheel locks, and either incorrectly tightened/torqued and/or the equipment used was warned by the mfg of the wheel locks NOT to be used on wheels where the lug studs were exposed to salt/winter conditions, thus causing the OEM equipment to fail and seize on the van. At the first DEALER performed tire rotation, they could not remove the OEM equipment, on a WARRANTED auto just 18 months into the mfg 3yr/36k mile warranty, and had to resort to brute force to remove seized wheel locks, thus causing documented damage to 2 wheels. Neither Dealer nor Chrysler will admit to liability, tuning this back on me, disregarding their warranty. Full documentation available for this claim. Their denial is not based on any contractual issue in warranty nor in any real fact. Had I had a flat tire on the side of the road, these seized wheel lock nuts may have caused a real & present danger to myself and family in the van. While driving the car down the high way at normal highway speeds (70mph) the car lost all propulsion. Shortly before the malfunction the electric motor started growling. A message on the screen appeared "service charging system" and " put car in Park". I was in the far left lane when this happened and traffic was low as it was early in the day (7 am ) I managed to move the car from the left lane through all the other lanes and stop on the side of the highway. I was not able to drive the car and called for tow. While waiting for the tow the car became responsive after about 15 min. I recalled the tow and drove to dealer. The dealer scanned for codes and found a code for "Motor A position error". This is the second time this has happened to this car - previous time the dealer "upgraded" firmware and said it should be fine. Hardware issues cannot be solved by software. On 3 separate occasions while driving the dashboard has flashed the error message "Shift to P, Service Charging System". As soon as this occurs, the car begins to lose power and is no longer driveable. Once the car is shifted to "Park" it is temporarily stuck in that position with the car "On" but no power to the engine. For somewhere between 30-90s the car can't be turned off or shifted out of "Park". At some point after a short period - sometimes opening the door seems to help - the car will turn off and can then be re-started. The check engine light is on, but the car can be driven. Within a couple of hours the check engine light goes off and the car seems to behave normally. This has happened to us 3 times over ~2 months now. The car has actually stopped in the middle of the road forcing us to turn on hazard lights while trying to restart. It is extremely dangerous and seemingly common problem. Our local Chrysler service center was only able to book an appointment a month out due to limited technicians qualified to work on the hybrid vehicles. We described the problem in detail but they are not aware of the problem or solutions. We are trying to contact Chrysler Corporate directly to find out what their solution is.

While driving on the highway, the vehicle abruptly lost propulsion, flashed error lights, and indicated an issue with the EV battery and charger, and would not charge when plugged in. Error codes flashed related to the Power train control module, Hybrid control processor, and Aux hybrid control processor. The CJDR Fairfax dealer would only provide software updates and would not perform other repairs per Chrysler's recommendations.

Driving on US-23 and "Service Charging System" warning displayed on dashboard. Car lost power and I had to coast to the side of the freeway. Turned car off but could not turn back on. Transmission would not go out of Park. Tried about 10 times and after about 15 minutes the car turned on and could drive. Check engine light remained on for remainder of the drive home. Planned on visiting dealer in the morning but car turned on and no check engine light. This is the 3rd time the "service charging system" warning has happened, but the first time the car died on the road. Every time the check engine light disappeared the next day. Had codes scanned and permanant code P1A21.

Forward Collision Avoidance › Automatic Emergency BrakingCrash

I was on the highway traveling at 60mph, with the adaptive cruise control on. The semi in front of me began to brake, I tapped off the cruise control and began braking. The semi came to a complete stop and I pushed my brake pedal to the floor to stop my vehicle. It did not stop. My Pinnacle has emergency braking and forward collision warning. My driver's instrument panel did not give a forward collision warning indication in a timely manner and my emergency braking did not stop my vehicle. At the time of the accident vehicle had less than 10,000 miles, dry weather conditions, and vehicle was used for leisure - in town driving. A month previously, I took my Pinnacle into the dealership because I didn't feel my brakes were working properly. They felt mushy, little resistance, and were making a noise. An inspection was performed by the dealership but were unable to detect a noise or visual issue. My safety was put at risk when a system I depended upon, that was advertised as, "Full speed forward collision warning with active braking assists you by providing both visual and audible warnings as well as applying emergency braking to help bring the vehicle to a full stop, if needed" (chrysler.com/pacifica/safey-security.html) failed. The brakes didn't engage properly to stop us before hitting the vehicle in front of us. The forward collision warning indication didn't happen in a timely manner, it was delayed causing us to lose precious seconds. If this had been a passenger vehicle i

On Saturday 9.3.22, while driving at approximately 40mph, my Chrysler Pacifica lost all power and slowed to a stop (I turned on my hazards immediately and pulled over to the shoulder). Based on the light traffic around me I was able to safety move accross two lanes even without the aid of power steering. Within 60 seconds of me coming to a stop, the Check engine light came on the cluster and an error message saying “charging system fault”. After calling for Chrysler roadside assistance, I attempted to restart the vehicle dozens of times unsuccessfully. At approx 60min after the vehicle lost power, it restarted. On Tuesday, 9.5.22 I took the vehicle to the dealer to diagnose & repair. As of today (9.12.22) they have been unable to recreate the event. Even though the error threw a CIL code, the dealer stated the error is now gone and no codes were stored. They have filed a “STAR” case with the manufacturer to determine next steps. I have refused to accept the vehicle back until the problem itself has been diagnosed and a repair is made.

I was on the highway, and my car suddenly lost power. I was unable to accelerate, and I had to pull over on the shoulder. I received an alert that said “service charging system error.” It was extremely dangerous for myself and my family.

While driving, the car would loose power then check engine light comes on and "service charging system" would pop up. The gas peddle is rendered useless as it doesn't do anything and would have to coast to safety. Dealer would just reset the computer and vehicle is realease. unfortunately, it had happen many times. Safety is a concern, more so on the highway.

Was driving the vehicle when it completely died. The “service hybrid electric vehicle system” warning came on the dash and could not get it to go into drive again. Completely dead in the water and could not move. I can’t imagine if I was going down the freeway and this happened. Very lucky to have it on a quiet road. This is a known issue and there are many cases of this happening to others if you check YouTube out or google it. It’s very scary and someone is gonna end up hurt or killed.

While driving on the freeway on the morning of June 18th, 2022 from Southern California to Las Vegas at 70-75mph, the car suddenly lost power. It displayed the error "Service Charging System" and "Shift P to to Start". This was incredibly dangerous as acceleration no longer worked and the car was slowly coasting to a stop. I was able to pull over to the side, turn off the car, and restart, but the check engine light persisted. After returning from Vegas, I brought the van to my local Chrysler dealership. They ran some flash updates and returned the car to me. The same issue then re-occurred on July 4th while traveling 65-70mph on the freeway. I brought it back to the dealer the next day, and it has been there since. After a lot of back and forth with Chrysler hybrid technicians, the dealership was authorized to replace the onboard charging module 1-2 weeks ago. They said the car was still throwing a charging error after that, and they are now looking into what else could be the issue, which they suspect might be the PIM (power inverter module). They are currently working with Chrysler hybrid techs again to diagnose as they are not able to order any parts for replacement without that approval. As of yesterday, the car has been at the dealership for 2 months now, well beyond lemon law timelines per California guidelines.

The contact owns a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The contact stated that whenever hybrid battery power was low, the vehicle was supposed to shift to using fuel; however, the vehicle would stall. The contact would pull over to the side of the road and start the vehicle after several attempts. The failure was intermittent and occurred at various speeds. The service charging system and check engine warning lights would be illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure reoccurred several weeks later. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the manufacturer suggested that the transmission should be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000.

The Pacifica has 4 times in the past 9 months has lost power while driving at a high speed on the Interstate. I am still able to steer and guide the car to the shoulder, then wait 2 minutes and the car starts back up and I am able to drive again. I then have the check engine light on, and the code I get is P0A3F. It has been to Chrysler Service 3 times, and they can't repeat the issue, and claim they don't have the man power or expertise to figure it out. Once the car loses power, the messages I get say to "return car to park", "Service Charge System", and the Chrysler Uconnect App says I have a "service fault". This has happened on 11/13/21, 5/8/22, 5/27/22, and this last time... 8/28/22.

I was driving 70 miles an hour, in the left lane ,in heavy traffic on I -75 when I suddenly lost all power. A warning flashed on the screen saying to service charging system. I barely avoided a collision trying to get off the highway. I could has easily collided with another car since I had no power and I had to cross lanes of traffic in order to get off the road.

Driving on the interstate, the vehicle simply shut down and gave the following error message: "Service Charging System." I was able to pull to the shoulder and get the vehicle started again. There had been no prior warning messages or symptoms of the problem. I took the vehicle in for service, and the dealership ran a diagnostic check and found no issues. A couple weeks later, the same thing happened. I was again able to get to the shoulder without incident. Took the vehicle to a different dealership where they identified the issue as a bad Power Inverter Module. The vehicle is still at the dealership (it has been a full week). While I was able to navigate the situation without injury. This could have been a very dangerous situation in the instance where a shoulder was not available or traffic was significantly heavier. It appears this is a fairly common problem for some of the new Chrysler Pacifica Hybrids, which brings to question why there has not been a recall issues.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
