2021 Chrysler Pacifica complaints

The contact owns a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V436000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I am having a problem with my under-warranty (32,000 miles) 2021 Chrysler Pacifica which the service department at my dealership appears unable to help. I was driving on an interstate in stop-and-go traffic for a couple of hours. It was a very hot day, temperatures well above 90 degrees. Six times over 15 minutes the following occurred: While coasting/braking, so at low RPM the engine turned itself off I braked to stop the vehicle The vehicle put itself into Park A message on the dash said to place my foot on the brake pedal and press the button to start the engine I did so, and the engine cranked for an unusually long time, becoming longer each of the 6 times, before eventually starting By the last time we were doubtful it would start at all After the 6th time I cut my long-distance trip short, turned around, and came home in normal (not stop-and-go) highway traffic conditions, with no more engine failure. The check engine light did not turn on, and no service codes were generated which could have been related to these power failures My local dealer's service department (Pohanka in Salisbury, MD) tested the alternator, starter, and battery and found nothing wrong. They did charge the battery up a bit, saying it took only 20 minutes. They have been unable to re-create the problem, which is not surprising, due to the unique conditions under which it happened. They say there is nothing they can do about my problem under warranty because there is no code and they can't reproduce

Van has 70K miles. After a long road trip. last stop noticed a gas smell from the front of van. When opening the hood noticed gas had been leaking over top of the motor by spraying fuel. Moving the fuel line running over the top of the motor, showed it was rubbing against top of the coil pack on engine. The rubbing over time caused a small cut in the fuel line allowing for fuel leak. The fuel line seam to be malformed or is unsported causing the rubbing.

After having the car serviced to fix the recall, my car stopped running while on the freeway at 60mph. This is now the 3rd time in less than 10 days that this has happened. I had the transmission replaced previously to fix this issue but it has returned.

Driving the vehicle on the interstate, and the vehicle suddenly lost power and had a warning that said "Stop Safely, Vehicle will shut off soon". However, we were in a construction zone and unable to stop on the interstate causing many vehicles to nearly crash into us. I understand we had previously had a recall worked that simply added this warning, but did not fix the issue. This warning is not a safe solution. It is still very dangerous for your vehicle to suddenly drop to 15mph at highway speeds. We are in the process of having the dealer confirm the issue.

While driving from Texas to Wisconsin our van powered down twice while at freeway speeds in traffic. We had 6 people in the van and were lucky to safely reach the should each time it happened. Transmission was replaced 2 years ago to correct this issue and it returned. Van was recently at dealership in Texas for inspection and work and found no reason to fix recall issues that are now being stated to have needed to be fixed.

Traveling down [XXX] in Escondido at approximately 73mph. In the fast lane and moving left into the car pool lane the vehicle lost all motive power and the error "Service Charging System" came up on the dash then flashing back to "SHIFT TO P TO START". We were able to make it to a very small emergency lane on the left side of the interstate. Had to power vehicle off and restart twice before be regained motive power. There was a very good chance that we would have been stranded in the middle of the interstate with wife and 2 kids in the care on an 85 degree day. We were able to make it off freeway with "Check engine light showing" but no other errors on the dash. We were able to drive home 7 miles and will tow the Pacifica to the dealer tomorrow. The forward collision alarm was triggered when there was no collision. Additionally the ABS system and cruise control went offline. This occurred numerous times during winter while at a full stop as well as when driving between 45-55mph. Once triggered the collision alarm remained on for hours to days at a time. During that time cruise control was not able to be used and ABS was offline. Additionally the assisted parking was not available. ABS and stability control is important for safe driving and braking in icy/slippery situations putting both my own, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. The vehicle was inspected 4 times by the Bath NY Chrysler dealership. A sensor was replaced the first time but this did not correct the issue. The 2nd time another component was replaced, but the technician stated the issue was still present and I would need to bring it back in for further testing. The 3rd and 4th time the dealership was not able to recreate the issue and did not perform any repairs. The issue has recurred, but the dealership was not able to get the car in at that time. This vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance etc. There was no prior warning to the issue. When it occurs the warning lamps that come on are: BRAKE, Front Collision, Front Collision OFF, ABS, Seatbelt, and the Traction Control. I have a photo of the dash from one of these incidents.

The engine stopped responding in a safe manner and we were not able to maintain safe speeds along a highway. While traveling on the highway in a busy, high-speed merge area at night, I received a warning "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." I was far from a safe pull off location along a highway with sound barriers on all sides and no way to walk away from the highway. I made my way to the shoulder. Seeing that I was not in a safe location for me and the other car passengers, I drove very slowly with my hazards on until I could exit the highway. There was not a safe shoulder available for much of the distance and the car was unable to go faster than about 30 miles per hour at its peak. This max speed dropped gradually to close to 10 mph. The engine barely responded and I struggled to make a turn onto a residential street without a collision with oncoming traffic. Once were in a safe location, I turned the car off and back on again and the same warning light appeared and the engine was similarly limited to moving the car at about 10 mph max. I have not had the car towed to a dealer yet for inspection.

While driving at full speed on an interstate, I received the message, "Stop Safely, Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." The van then lost power, and I was able to pull over safely (thankfully!). After about 15 minutes, the van restarted, and I made it about 10 miles until it happened again. After two more shut-downs, I was able to get the van to a dealership, where it has been sitting undiagnosed for over a week now.

The contact owned a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while stopped in congested traffic, the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. As a result, the vehicle was sent careening head-on into the vehicle ahead before coming to a complete stop. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact's daughter was transported to an area hospital by EMT and treated for nondescript injuries to her neck and shoulders. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 108,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle and shifting to park(P), the contact attempted to turn off the vehicle however, the engine remained running. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent however, on one occasion, the engine remained running for almost 2-hours after pressing the START/STOP button. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the wiring harness behind the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

Vehicle has suddenly went into low power mode while driving three times. Was towed to shop each time to find no issues besides codes. Codes were cleared and vehicle was returned. Now vehicle is in the shop at chrysler due to a service charging system code for the hybrid system, causing the vehicle to not start or shift out of park gear. Vehicle has 58,000 miles and is not covered under the battery warranty with only 2 thousand miles remaining on the factory power train warranty.

High pressure fuel line leaking due to tube rubbing against hard plastic clip. Smelled gasoline fumes from outside the vehicle. Narrowed it down to the passenger side of the engine compartment but couldn't isolate it. Read some forums from similar cases and identified a high pressure fuel line that could wear a hole due to a design flaw. Sure enough I wigged it just slightly and upon starting the vehicle it started spraying gasoline all over the engine at an alarming rate. I drove my children to daycare the previous day, this could have started a fire or caused the engine area to explode. Crazy unsafe and glad I caught it quickly.

For the 3rd time after driving approximately 200 miles, the vehicle has shut down on the highway. I receive a warning instructing me to pull over safely because the vehicle is shutting down. All three of these times happened on interstate highways. Two times this occured on the NJ Turnpike. My husband is disabled and the process of getting off the highway - involving exiting our vehicle and getting into a tow truck is frightening and daunting. By this third time I figured out that we can cool the vehicle by waiting. Which we did because this last breakdown happened again on the NJ Turnpike. I had 3 dogs with me in addition to my handicapped husband. I could not imagine getting out into the lanes of traffic with the three dogs and the disabled husband. I waited 45 minutes and the car started and we were able to proceed 10 miles. At which point we were several miles from the exit off of the turnpike. We were now within 7.5 miles of a dealership. We were instru cted by the vehicle again to pull over safely because the car was shutting down. We waited another 30-45 minutes. Managed to get off the highway. Now within 1.5 miles of the dealership we were told again to pull over. We waited again and made it to the dealership. The codes were the same codes we had on the April 7 breakdown -- the February breakdown also had our car not being able to start. I bought a used Chrysler 2021 Pacifica Hybrid that has broken down for the third time with the same codes P1A9A, P1A9AE, P1A21, and

On two separate occasions (on April 30 and May 1, 2024), my Chrysler Pacifica's engine suddenly lost power while driving on highways. I was served with an error "Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." After a few minutes on the side of the highway, the vehicle was able to start again and drive. After the first incident, I drove to a Chrysler dealership, who plugged in a portable computer to check for error codes. Despite the severity of the issue, the vehicle's onboard computer recorded no errors. Since then, I found that the NHTSA is aware of the problem (NHTSA Action Number RQ24004) related to a wiring harness short circuit. Chrysler's supposed "recall" only entails a feature to supposedly allow time to pull over safely. I enjoyed no such time. I lost power immediately and had to immediately traverse multiple lanes in busy traffic to pull off the road.

My fuel line was rubbing against a part of the engine and leaked. My mechanic said the fuel line was unsupported causing the rubbing and didn’t have shielding/padding to protect it.

I had purchased the vehicle three days beforehand. It was a lemon law buyback car. I had driven around 120 miles or so that day. The high that day was at least 90 degrees or so. It was past the halfway mark of driving that day, when I tested the Level 2 EVSE I had bought. It didn't work because the plug wasn't energized, but I did notice that the time to charge was reading 3 hours instead of the expected 2 hours. Once I got back to town, I plugged in to a Chargepoint charger, which was only charging at a Level 1 rate. I contacted the dealer to report the problem, and then went to my storage locker. On the way, the AC stopped working. When I tried to leave, the vehicle would not start. Suspecting an overheating problem, I left the hood open for a half hour or so, and after that, the vehicle started up. On my way home, the vehicle suffered a complete loss of motive power, displaying a message saying "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon", leaving me stranded in a parking lot. This was followed by a message saying "Service Charging System". After another hour or so of sitting with the hood up, the vehicle worked again. This has happened multiple times since then. I have traced the problem to the battery pack reaching a temperature of 55 C, at which point the vehicle invariably shuts down. One time it did this, I was on stuck on the side of a road with no shoulder, after dark. The dealers I have taken it to could not reproduce the problem, as it takes hours of driving to trigge

I was driving home from a trip of 208 miles. I drove to Bethlehem PA 208 miles, was there for 4 hours and was returning home driving another 208 miles. I did not plug in my plug in hybrid prior to leaving Bethlehem, PA. When I was less than 10 miles away from my home, lights came on and my dashboard said "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". I have a picture of the dash. In the upper left hand corner was a picture of the Battery on the right lower corner a picture of a plug. I had 288 miles range left on my gas. My husband is disabled and the police officer who pulled behind me had to close a lane of traffic on the Interstate Highway [XXX] ) to allow him to disembark the vehicle at 8:30 pm and to reenter the tow truck that towed us off the highway. Second incident of loss of motive power at 37352 miles on the odometer. Vehicle was traveling on freeway and suddenly displayed message, "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." Accelerator pedal had no effect and vehicle began coasting. It was dangerous to coast across multiple lanes of freeway to reach an off-ramp with shoulder wide enough to stop the vehicle. We also had to make it over an incline while coasting and it may not have been possible to reach the shoulder or off-ramp. Prior to this incidence, the vehicle had been brought to a Chrysler dealership due to a previous occurrence at 36997 miles on the odometer. It was inspected by the Chrysler dealership and deemed to be operating normally.

Ghost braking. While driving on the road using the adaptive cruise control, the van initiated its braking system as if someone was in front of me. This happened with nothing in front of me for miles in sunny cool weather and while at night passing a car with fog. I assumed the fog case had some bearing as the car I was passing their tail lights appeared to illuminate the fog to a degree you would think was a car in front of me. Glove box needed to be replaced. Kept opening and slamming on my bride's chins. The trunk is soaking up water from an unknown source after heavy rains and car washes. We noticed the issue when we vacuumed the rear trunk space and took out the mat. We dried it at the local car wash and didn't think much of it until we went through a car wash again. And there was the leakage but unknown from where.

Vehicle was having driving issues for months and dealership could not identify the issue. Van showed "check engine" light, stopped using electrical propulsion (while fully charged), and engine started making a lot of noise during driving. Vehicle was kept off the highway until it could be taken into the dealership for service. Dealership identified issue as battery pack coolant heater and replaced it.

On empty roads at low speeds, vehicle flashed emergency braking signs and stopped abruptly. Happened multiple times in January both in reverse and when driving forward normally. Safety of driver and passengers was impacted by the sensor issues and abrupt braking. If there were other cars behind the vehicle, it could cause accidents and injury. Vehicle was brought into dealership and could not identify or address the issue. Suggestion provided was to disable the sensors while driving.

When at a red light or while driving car throws its self into park and then powers off immediately and this isn’t safe with my children in the car while drive it’s also happened while driving during traffic car just throws its self into park and powers off

Driving at 65-70mph on the Interstate and vehicle gave message "Stop Safely - Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". As indicated, shortly after, vehicle lost motive power and we had to coast to the shoulder. As we were going downhill, we managed to make the next exit and pull off. On flat ground, vehicle would only crawl at walking pace. Vehicle did restart after a full off/on cycle and subsequent dealer diagnosis is the hybrid transmission replacement.

I was traveling at highway speed. The hybrid was utilizing mostly the battery. I needed to accelerate to the speed of those around me. The van switched from just battery to utilizing battery and gas power. About a minute after it switched, the engine completely shut off. A warning flashed up on the dash display to “Stop safely Vehicle will shut off soon”. The engine shut off. I could no longer use the gas, the only thing I could do was coast to a stop. This was very terrifying because I was traveling at such a high speed on the interstate. I immediately put on my hazards and coasted to a stop. This was harmful to others on the interstate because they had to slow down behind me or get around me. Eventually when I was slow enough, I managed to coast onto the shoulder and come to a complete stop. I was able to reproduce the problem upon restarting the vehicle. I have taken the van to a dealership but they have not been able to look into it yet. The engine light is now on in the vehicle. This happens consistently at high speeds

January 2023 the car was at the dealer for two months for the battery heater. The car was losing coolant as the battery heater was malfunctioning. The car was at the dealers for 2 months for the repairs to be completed. December of 2023 the car had “Stop Safely — Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon”. We pulled off the freeway in a confused state and the car shut off. We called Chrysler who said to have the vehicle towed or driven at our own risk to a dealer. But had no input if the vehicle was actually having a problem or just a sensor. The vehicle was towed and now has been at the dealer for 3 months with no remedy. They say a new transmission is on backorder but not approved by Chrysler.

As I was leaving my son's school parking lot - moments away from an on-ramp to a major freeway - an error message flashed on the dash saying "Service Charging System" followed by a message about the vehicle's speed being limited and a red turtle icon. The van instantly was driving strangely. Since I was in a parking lot, I turned everything off and waited for the van to shut down completely. I restarted the van and the warning messages were gone, but the check engine light remained. The van showed more than 15 miles of battery mileage remaining. The week prior, we had taken it into the dealership for the open recalls to be repaired, so we took it back for this issue. The dealership just messaged me saying the van is ready to be picked up and that the charging system was just low. But it still had nearly 1/2 the battery left when this happened! The dealership went on to say, "So here is the deal, we could not verify the concern at this time. There are no codes in the system, nothing to really test for. I can have someone drive it and see if anything happens, but without being able to duplicate your concern, we cannot diagnose it." My sister-in-law had the exact same issue on her own Chrysler pacific Hybrid just a few months ago, while she was on the freeway and her speed was instantly throttled. They replaced the entire electrical hybrid transmission. This is a known issue with this vehicle and it is going to put my life and my kid's life at risk since the dealership cannot re

While traveling down the interstate on a family road trip, our Pacifica PHEV alerted us to stop safely because our vehicle would lose power. We almost didn't make it to the shoulder before we completely lost power on the van. The vehicle was not drivable while on the side of the road. The transmission had to be replaced.

The vehicle stalled on the freeway while traveling 75 mph in the HOV lane. After the engine shut off, I recalled an error message on the dash that stated, "Motive power will stop and pull over quickly.” I needed to take evasive action to bring the vehicle to the side of the 5 freeway. I could not restart the engine in Neutral while the car was in motion. The car showed a charging error on the first and second attempted restart on the side of the road with the transmission in Park. After letting the vehicle sit for a few minutes, I successfully restarted the engine, but the dash continued showing an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). We were traveling at 75 mph in the HOV lane (lane #1) when the vehicle engine cut off without warning. Once the engine was off, I saw a warning on the instrument cluster that the vehicle would lose all motive power (it's a hybrid) and that I should immediately stop it. I needed to take emergency action, cross over 5 lanes of freeway traffic, and then stop on the side of the road. The vehicle did not allow an engine to restart while in Neutral, with the car moving. The vehicle was brought in for the recall of 03A/NHTSA 23V-010. From what I understand, this recall did not fix the problem (reported to be a faulty wiring harness in the transmission). I installed a software update to display the error message that instructed me that all motive power would be lost and that I should stop the vehicle.

Vehicle shut down unexpectedly multiple times even AFTER recall update was applied. Allows for minimal time to pull to safe location. Potential for serious incident if safe shoulder is not immediately available such as on a bridge.

The windshield wipers are not synced together causing them to contact each other to the point that the stuck together. As a result, the wipers are no longer functional, and the drivers vision is impaired which increases the likelihood of an accident.

Without any prior warning or predisposing symptoms, my vehicle lost all power when I was driving in the carpool lane at 70 miles per hour. I had to "coast" across 5 lanes of freeway and come to stop in the emergency lane. When I applied the brakes I had no power to brakes which made the car skid violently. I could have lost control because I was not expecting that secondary issue. The traction conrtol may have been triggered causing the car to overreact. The dashboard lights and "d" on my gear shifter were all flashing. I turned the car off and allowed it to sit for a few moments. I turned the car on again and nothing happened. I turned it off a second time and it turned on, went into drive and I was able to drive the remaining 5 miles home without incicent. I have already completed the recall notice for this very issue back in Jan 2023. However, even though the dealer states they completed my recall work the upbove described incident happened on 1/14/24 nearly a year after their recall completion.

While driving on the highway at 70mph, the dashboard flashed a message saying "Please stop vehicle. Car will automatically stop."

Car would make a grinding noise over 5mph. We looked under the vehicle to find a loose bolt to the left of the left tire.

Front park sensor will intermittently go off like it is detecting an object when vehicle is at stopped, but there's no object, went to Chrysler Dealership for warranty 7 Times, Last time dealer service confirm and recreate the problem but can not replace because NO FAIL CODE as me open case with Chrysler. When park sensor fault read when I was at stop I need to get out of the car to inspect to make sure no object is in the front, this is very UNSAFE sometime I have get out of the car in the middle on the road.

While driving early in morning on local highway (70mph speed limit), car flashed "Service Charging System" shut off the engine and power to the vehicle including acceleration, and check engline light illuminated. Thankfully early hours made it possible to drift to side of road to put car in park. Engine light illuminated dash and dash flashed "shift to P to start." Car would not shut off after pressing the start button nor depressing the break either (hazards were engaged at this point). Hazards had to be shut off in order to completely shut off the vehicle to restart it. Dangerous on major highway with no lights or hazards on side of road. 25 degrees outside. This is the Second time this has occurred to this vehicle. The last time occurred on 1/20/2023 the exact same way shutting off power and engine of the car on the same local highway with similar cold temperature (always issues with this car in the cold, hybrid battery system fails in cold below 40 or temperatures higher than 90). Last time a grounding issue was found in the transmission and was replaced. I will be contacting the dealership for repair today will update if it is still grounding issues or something new causing same problem. As i made in my last nhtsa report in january on this vehicle, the fact this car shuts down while in motion and you have no control over the car is dangerous and can cost people their lives. As a hybrid system, the van should automatically switch to gas only and bypass the hybrid charging

My new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Minivan was repaired under the 03a recall on 3/2023. It had another loss of motive power, the same issue that was supposed to be fixed under the 03a recall. The car warned me that it would shutoff soon in the visual display and to move to a safe area. It did shut down immediately. I attempted to restart it several times. After many times it did start and the transmission light remained illuminated. I was driving on the highway at the time and blocking traffic. It's unsafe for the car to shut off randomly. This is unacceptable and unsafe. I paid for a brand new, safe, functioning car. This is a serious problem and is dangerous for my family. I feel unsafe driving a car that will shut off at random times. This has already been repaired once and remains a problem. I need a solution.

Chrysler calls for the oil filter housing to be tightened to 18 ft/lbs. Google shows many people online claiming that this is too much; that hand tight or 11-12 ft/lbs is sufficient, and that the oil filter housing is likely to break if tightened to the factory specs. I figure the manufacturer knows best, and tightened the oil filter housing to 18 ft/lbs. The housing is under the intake manifold, and the trough in the V of the engine plus the shields under the car hid the resulting leak until I was on the highway. When I got on the highway, I found I was laying down a smokescreen that obscured every lane of eastbound I-44. The generator light came on as oil caused the belts to slip; I am very lucky that the car did not catch fire. I left a solid line of oil on the road to the nearest repair shop. The resulting repairs cost me $1,198.37. ***** Clearly Chrysler needs to develop a metal oil filter housing which will last the life of the engine. The plastic one they have now endangers the public through the risk of fires, and pollutes the environment through the loss of oil. My vehicle stopped while driving. I was able to pull of the road and get towed to the dealer 11/1/23. They performed the recall, I left the dealer 11/21/23 and while driving my van back to the house, I had the same thing happen. The error message lit up and the car slowed down til it would no longer move. I do not feel safe in this vehicle, as this is the second time it has happened in a month, and the recall was taken care of the day I picked it up.

While driving 70 mph on the highway with my three children in the car, my engine suddenly and without warning, shut off. I had to coast over to the shoulder and wait for help. The dash displayed the warning "service charging system" and would not let me put the car in drive. I was VERY lucky that there weren't any cars around me when my acceleration suddenly stopped so I was able to get over on the highway. The car stalled in an unsafe place and left my children and me at risk of being hit from behind while waiting for help. I got the car to the dealer and they have informed me that this was caused by total transmission failure. This was a HIGHLY unsafe situation and it could have ended much worse for my family, and those in vehicles around us!

The headrest worked when I got the car and the headrest stopped working it won’t stay open it went down to fold into the floor and it won’t lock in position so the seat is unusable because the headrest is locked/ broken in the down position that has it hit right at the middle of neck for some that 5’2 and it would mostly break someone’s neck if an accident occurred

Head restraints in back seat prevent tall child car seats from being installed without removal of head restraint. My daughter took 2 car seats to Seattle airport and rented a Pacifica. An online you tube video showed how to take off the back panel, release some cable to remove head restraint which they thought was a bad idea in a rented car. In my 2021 Pacifica, the front seat head restraint is so far forward (yes i know about the ratchet release) that the physical therapy posture lectures for a rounded shoulder head forward older person, that you can not move your head to the proper position without hitting the head rest. So I turned mine around so it faces backwards but the catch cog doesn't work. However it can't fly up and off since it hits the ceiling. I used some vinyl tubing as a spacer to set the height right See photos. This car is the PHEV Pacifica. Apparantly when you push on both pedals the brakes do not take precedence. I was in a median turning and car unexpectedly moved forward 6 to 9 or so inches. 2nd time, I was suspicious at what was happening. 3rd time was sure. None for last year. I'm at 2 yrs and 33,000 miles now. Yes, I drive with two feet, for last 56 years. After getting use to the amount of free play in the pedals, it isn't happening anymore. Right foot for forward, left foot for stopping. Makes sense to me. And I actually drive straight shift also but only a little bit now.

My car was at the dealership for the 03A recall repair for a full month in April of 2023. Since the recall was supposedly fixed my car has shut down unexpectedly while driving 12 times. Each of those times I was driving with my two toddlers in the vehicle. I will be driving on the highway and the car will show a message that "the engine will shut off soon, pull over safely" but will immediately shut down to where I'm just coasting and have to pull over on the shoulder of the highway. Thankfully I've had access to a shoulder every time it's happened so far but it's extremely unsafe and dangerous. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it. I've stopped charging the battery and have only been using gas because of this issue but it still happens. It also occurs when the vehicle is stopped on an incline, like when I'm in the car pick up line at my children's schools. So I've blocked traffic because the car shuts down. When this happens the only way it will successfully restart is if I have the car and my emergency lights shut off. I'll wait five minutes and then try again. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts where I'm stranded for 15 minutes before I can drive again. Chrysler customer service has been abysmal as has my local dealership. I'm giving them one more chance to fix this before getting a lawyer involved. I'm amazed we haven't had a wreck yet. The recall"fix" has not taken care of the issue.

Chrysler recall 03A is installed on my pacifica hybrid. Since then, the past two times the van has been driven at highway speed, it has suddenly notified me that vehicle shutdown is imminenent and put the vehicle into limp mode. In both cases, turning the car off and on again allowed normal operation, with the check engine light locked in. The first time the code was P0A43, to be determined what the code is for this most recent event.

Was driving at 72-74mph on Dallas North Tollway on Oct 6th. Vehicle is a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 2021 model - Limited Plug in Hybrid trim. Battery charge was 2% (less than 1 mile range) Fuel was 95% showing 395 miles of range left After the battery depletes, the vehicle is supposed to switch over into ICE mode (Gas engine kicks on) Car was running only on Electric power and when the battery hit 0%, the car stalled on the highway and showed multiple warning lights Service Hybrid Electric System Charge system not available EBD2 Engine Malfuction Transmission Temperature Automatic Transmission Fluid overheating Check Engine light Car still had power (power steering and brakes working) but lost all propulsion suddenly Luckily i was able to safely pull over on the shoulder Turned car off and on and still had same warning lights and car's engine would not start Finally waited 15 minutes, disconnected battery (12v) and tried it and now engine started Came home and charged battery to 100% (showed 32 miles of range) but now car will never run on Electric motors - Only via Gas engine This is a serious safety issue - I had the same exact problem on my 2018 Pacifica Plugin Hybrid which was diagnosed as a HCM (Hybrid Control Module) issue. It was the subject of a recall. This is the 2021 model with less than 25,000 miles and its still a major safety concern. While driving my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica the vehicle stalled while going through an intersection. There was no warning lights on the dashboard or any indication that the vehicle was about to stall. The van had to come to a complete stop put in park and then restarted before I can get out of the intersection. This was highly unsafe as I have small children in the car. I took the vehicle back to the dealership I bought it from and they cannot find anything wrong with the car. This is very frustrating and highly unsafe.

There have been several incidents that have to do with the electrical components site, such as the adaptive cruise control not working the lanes assist going off, stating that my hands are on the wheel. When my hands are on the wheel, there have been problems when I go to put it in drive. It'll switch back to park and throw on my parking brake. It has also the auto breaking lights have. Come on, my checken and light has come on. It taking in to the dealership and they found corrosion on some of the wires, replaced them. They also replaced the adaptive adaptive control module. It was supposed to magically fix all my electrical problems. Yet I'm still having electrical problems also my navigation on. A scream down by the cluster cluster. Stays on and doesn't go anywhere. I also have video and pictures and things like that of the situations that have gone on with my Van 4 months and nothing has been fixed. I've been told by the dealer and buy a representative from Chrysler. That's my Van is fine. There's nothing wrong with that. But clearly there isn't an electrical issue and. And I pretty God. Nothing happens to me or my family or someone else because of it. Also, the radio, when you shut your car off and open the doors to exit your vehicle, the radio is still left playing and should not also the auto break in just comes on. For no reason. It happened on the interstwhen we were merging in the traffic. And there's no reason it should be doing some of the things that it's doing.

The power lift gate door opened on its own when my husband opened one of the side sliding doors. The rear door then collided with the shopping cart that was parked behind the car and continued to open, lifting the grocery cart with our 45lb son and all of our groceries up off the ground. My husband lunged to catch our son and our 2 year old daughter fell, landing head first on the asphalt. She is currently in the emergency room. The door is meant to STOP opening if it bumps another object or feels resistance. It is also not meant to open on its own. I found several videos of this exact issue (the power lift gate opening on its own when the sliding door is opened). However, the resulting injury has caused alarm and I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. We have video footage of the incident from the grocery store’s security cameras.
