Driving through Arizona desert and California desert, air conditioning went out. On Monday, contacted Mission Bay Chevrolet to get AC repaired. Dealership and service rep were excellent but this AC should not have failed at 39,151 miles. Diagnosis showed that Compressor clutch pulley melted freezing the compressor. I can only thank God that I had an extended warranty.

The vehicle does not recognize P even thought it says it is shifted into park. Have to start , stop and move lever several times. Dealer recognized and says they have seen several of these issues , but since the car is out of warranty they won’t fix. I don’t know if the car is actually in P or not and I’m scared.

About one month ago, I began receiving a "Shift to Park" message in error when powering off my car and in park. There is no way to override the message, during which the car remains on and there is a loud beeping noise. I have to power the car back on and manipulate the sensors to make the "Shift to Park" message go away - and this doesn't always work or takes several times. In addition to the obvious concern, I'm also concerned about my car's battery every time this happens. I have young children and am afraid to drive my car right now because of this issue. We bought out our lease in May and our Warranty expired about three months ago and Chevy is refusing to fix the defected part. Chevy is aware of this problem in older and other 2019 vehicles, they have yet to recall the 2019 Traverse. I took my car to a local mechanic to replace the faulty wire, with the same wire which will likely cause the same issue in a matter of time. Consumers should not be responsible for unethical practices. Please hold Chevy accountable for their poor choices!

When car is shifted into park, there is an error saying that the vehicle is not in Park and the lights and warning chime turns on. It happens 90% of the time. I can move the shifter back and forth and some times it will stop and work properly. I can also try to move the shifter while in park without moving into another gear and that might work but it may take 5 -10 tries. Do a google search and you'll find lots of threads on bad Gen 2 shifters for this year and Make/Model. No warnings prior to malfunctioning. The vehicle gives a message of "Shift to park" but the vehicle is in park. This is a safety issue and could cause harm to somebody if the vehicle does not think it's in park and start's rolling. It also doesn't let the vehicle shut completely off because it thinks its still in drive! There are alot of forums and complaints on this issue. Local dealership states yes we have heard of this issue BUT "It's not on a recall list yet and also not covered under warranty" This should be a recall and fixed by Chevrolet without charging customers $400-$1,000 to fix a BIG issue with numerous vehicles. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS KNOWN ISSUE

On June 12, 2022, after stopping for gas, my car did not want to start back up. I put my foot on the brake and pushed the start/stop button, but the engine struggled to come on. It did a similar thing a week before, but on that time when I pushed the button to start the car, all of my lights came on and my radio, but my air conditioner delayed in coming on. When I put the car in drive to go, nothing happened and I realized the engine never started. I pushed the start/stop button again and everything shut off and then back on and I was able to drive. For almost a year now, I have had issues with the auto stop feature when I'm at a stop light/sign. When I try to take off again, it delays on letting me move. This is also when my car will jerk or jolt as I start to drive. I took it to the dealership to look at the problem and was told there may be something with the fuel system. All they did was flush the system, but the problem didn't stop. I am seeing reports online of similar things happening to other 2019 Traverse owners. This concerns me because what happens when my car decides not to start again and I'm in a busy area? What happens when my family is with me and it doesn't want to go or it shuts off at a stop sign or light and we're in crash? I am making an appointment with another dealership, but with how many other drivers seem to be having problems, this seems to be a manufacturer issue and needs to be taken care of by them.

The gear shift won't register as being placed into park. It often requires multiple on/off cycles of the vehicle along with repeated shifting into drive/park. Preliminary research showed it as a unique problem to this setup. I believe the safety risk is present by the inability to confirm successful changing of gears.

My complaint is in regard to the climate control system on my 2019 Chevy Traverse. I chatted with Will of the Chevrolet Customer Service Center on October 10, 2021. The problem is that the system will not keep the windshield clear of fog in certain weather conditions. During the chat, Will said that he couldn't do anything unless I had taken the car to the dealer. I believed it is a design flaw, because my son owns the same model and year of Traverse and has the same complaint. (I have previously owned 2009 and 2012 Traverses and did not experience this problem.) The next time I took the car to my dealer for service 12/14/2021, I told the service dept about the problem. According to the service request: "All functions working as designed at this time." The service manager told me that this is a common complaint. He suggested using the "Max Defrost" button (which bombs the driver with air), turning on the AC to take the humidity out of the air, and turning up the temperature. We have had this fogging happen at many times. but is not something that can be replicated, because it is dependent on the weather. The time I complained in October 2021 was particularly scary, because I was bringing my husband home from surgery late at night from Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. The hospital is about 2 hours from our home and is not a trip we make on a regular basis. It happened on Friday, May 6, 2022 again, when my husband was going to Monroeville, PA for a check-up with the vascular

I get ‘Shift to Park’ message and constant dinging when car is placed in park and turn off ignition. After doing some research, this seems to be a common issue with various 2016-2020 Chevrolet vehicles. I am hopeful that this will be covered under my vehicle warranty from the dealer, but we should not have to hassle with that if GM is well aware of the issue in many vehicles. A recall should be issued and GM should cover to replace and repair back to proper working order. When many people spend a year's salary or more on a brand new vehicle and it doesn't even last them two years, that is not right. I only have 24,000 miles on my vehicle and this should not be an issue I am having to deal with right now. GM needs to step up and take care of this issue immediately.

The electronic cord in the shifter showing the "shift to park" message code caused my car battery to die and be unable to shut my car off and on for MONTHS. This electronic problem was nothing related to anything I did but the vehicle itself causing me to finally take it in because it was not safe for me and my kids to go far in case the battery would die. It costed me almost $500 and 6 HOURS of wasted time at the dealership. I would HIGHLY recommend and appreciate a recall reimbursement on this issues- I am not the first to have this happen.

First Issue: 09/28/2019- Robert Chevrolet/Hicksville- Car got shut off on middle of old country road- Car needs to be towed to Nearest Chevy dealer and Generator and battery was replaced-Generator caused battery to fail- There was no rental car given since I was told that service center didn’t belong to me- If I had brought to dealership in Douglaston then I would be able to get a loaner car. Same issue Second time: 2/10/2022 Car got shut off in middle of Northern Blvd. right near service center- My whole car dashboard and signal went blank while taking exist and I was not able to use signals indicator at all- My car got completely shut off in few minutes after shutting off dashboard. I almost got into an accident due to car slowed down and shut off completely in busiest main street. Car drivers behind me started cursing and honking and screaming because I even couldn’t start emergency flashing light. I was able to borrow orange cone from local service guy and put it behind my car since I couldn’t use emergency indicator. I was told $1350 including tax is out of pocket cost (Alternator/Battery)- I was within 3 year leasing period but due to its out of warranty for mileage limit for about over 4000 mileage. GM was involved and took percentage of and I still ended up paying $816. I am asking why within three year my battery and generator will go bad?

My vehicle is not registering whenever it is put into park. The dashboard keeps signaling that it needs to be shifted into park when it already is and refuses to turn the vehicle off because it’s not registering that it did is in park. Upon researching the issue, I found that this is a common problem due to defective parts and once fixed by the dealership people have reported having the same problem within the next few thousand miles. This same issue is happening with different models of gm vehicles as well and I believe due to the widespread and common occurrence of this specific related issue that there needs to be a recall to have the problem resolved. I am unable to even drive my vehicle due to this. I can not turn my vehicle completely off which drains the battery.

My Chevy Traverse LT has only 15,500 miles. A few weeks after my 3 year warranty expired I started getting an "Action Required Shift to Park" message and the car would not recognize it was in park. After numerous attempts it would eventually recognize and turn off properly. Not only is this frustrating but also dangerous. I called the dealer I purchased from and his only offer was to put it on the diagnostic machine told me that that would be deducted from the total. When I asked what the ballpark figure would be, he said he did not know which tells me that they could just charge me whatever they wanted. He said he knew about this problem and the bulletin that was issued and had fixed many. I'm assuming he should know a ballpark figure but the way he was doing it I wouldn't know until it was all said and done shameful way to do business for a known problem. I called Chevrolet Customer Service and was told it was covered under the power train warranty. Then I found a Chevy dealer in Smithville who acknowledged this is an ongoing problem, not covered by warranty and quoted me $500 to repair by replacing the sensor and harness. He got my business by being honest. I have been a loyal Chevy customer for 50+ years and now rethinking what make car I will get in the future. I am perplexed why Chevy doesn't issue a recall for this issue since a car needs to be in park and turned off.

The transmission is shifted into park mechanism does not work and is available for inspection. The Shift Into Park notice in the Driver Information Center lights and chimes as long as the system does not believe the transmission is not in park. This will cause the battery to go dead, or in some instances you can't turn off the engine nor leave the vehicle until this error is cleared. It has been confirmed by a dealer (Henna) whose service contact said they had the same problem on their 2019 Traverse plus many, many comments about this problem for this and other GM models which have been posted on the Internet. The vehicle nor the component have been inspected by others, but another dealer will be attempting to fix the problem under one of serveral TSBs created by GM. The tire pressure monitoring system shows incorrect information. It is of by 3 - 5 psi when compared to a tire pressure gauge the is tested & calibrated accurate to ±2% at our JACO NIST and ANSI certified calibration lab. Not knowing the correct tire air pressure risks a blowout while traveling. The component will be inspected within 5 days at a Chevrolet dealership service center. The failure causes alerts on the Driver Information Center to the incorrect tire pressure. The error first appeared around June 2020 while checking the tire pressure with my gauge.

Unknown what component is failing. When honking the horn, the radio station changes. It is available upon inspection. When the station changes to another station, at times the new station is a lot louder than the original station. This is distracting and causes the driver to look at the Entertainment Center and away from the road. This puts everyone in the vehicle at risk for an accident. Other drivers or pedestrians are risk for the same reason. The vehicle has been inspected several times by the dealership that sold us the vehicle who said they could not reproduce the error. No warnings appeared before nor as the error happens. This appeared within the first year of ownership.

Left rear light side-marker assembly is not functional after 3 years in service and less than 29,000 miles. The side marker indicator inside the vehicle flashes rapidly (in quick succession) when the left blinker is applied. This indicated to me that a bulb was out. Initially, all lights were working when inspecting and inside flasher was quickly blinking. After checking multiple times, the left rear blinker finally stopped working altogether. This left rear indicator mark prevents others from knowing which direction I'm turning unless I stick my left arm out the window. The vehicle was taken in to dealership. Dealership said it needed the light assembly replaced at a cost of ~$867. We may have this done outside of an OEM dealership due to cost.

It will not stop this notice until I stop/start the car a few times or repeatedly press the gear shift lever. It happens intermittently, but at least 3-4 times a week. As a woman, the idea of going shopping and coming out to a dead car battery from this problem is always in the front in my mind and some stranger “helping” me, instead mugs me. I am terrified that it will cause an electrical fire under my carport and burn my house down with us inside. Appears, after research online, this is a known issue under TSB 19-NA-206, September 2019. I have scheduled to take to the dealership for inspection. But it also sounds like the recommended repair is only a band-aid that will require a further repair.
