On Febuary 13th 2026 I was involved in a wreck where I re-ended another stopped vehicle. There was no warning light or automated braking executed. I braked hard but not soon enough. There was no malfunction warnings or lights displayed before (or after ) the accident showing it to be inoperative. It has been in to the dealer 3 times since. Yes it is available for inspection. Was told that it will not work if you have your foot on brake or accelerator by one technician. This truck use to brake for no reason even going 70 mph on highway. I am pretty sure GM has reprogramed to fix that issue leaving the sensitivitu so low it now does not work at all.

The all around vehicle camera system fails on average every 6 months. As the dealership is far away in our area, I have to take a 1/2 day to full day off work to take it over. I believe we are now on the third replacement camera module, in need of a fourth that was just replaced less than two months ago. GM makes it unreasonable to deal with. They require you drive over to the dealership just so they can see the same problem is occuring and only then will order parts, requiring a second appointment. The problem is the same and this is just adding more time to the failing safety issue which is of major concern because we can't just drop in easily because we are in a remote area. It sometimes takes over a month for me to be able to schedule a time to go over there --- so I go many weeks with a failing camera system.

The 6.2 liter engine has been recalled. The problem is if you pass inspection you are now required to use a higher grade of oil. This results in an additional cost of about $50 per change. The reimbursement of the difference should have been covered by the recall as this was not an intended cost when I purchased the truck.

On [XXX], I was going to Atlanta, the truck started hesitating harshly while I was passing another driver on a two lane road. The truck wouldn’t accelerate and the paddle seemed to be stuck, I had to pull off the road to avoid a head on collision. On the 30th of May, I took the truck to Allen Turner in Pensacola, Florida where I purchased it and reported the issue, the service department was closed and they sent me next door to a Chevrolet Dealership, which was also closed. On today [XXX], I took the truck out for a test drive, and I had the same incident happen, but this time I pulled into a gas station and shutdown the truck. Once I turned the truck back on, the check engine light came on. I didn’t think I would make it back home, because the truck didn’t accelerate correctly, and when I pressed the gas pedal it didn’t accelerate and was making different noises. The pedal seemed to be stuck, with no acceleration. I recorded a little bit with my phone while trying to drive, but it’s not the best. The primary failure is in the electronic transmission control system and engine wiring harness assembly, specifically throwing diagnostic trouble codes P0700 (Transmission Control System Malfunction) and P0717 (Input Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal). The authorized dealership identified a critical issue with the engine harness chafing, but their subsequent repair attempts have failed to resolve the recurring powertrain failure. The complete vehicle and all affected components are currently parked and fully available for immediate physical inspection at my residence upon request. While operating the vehicle at highway speeds, the powertrain abruptly loses throttle response and forces itself into a severe, uncommanded "Reduced Power / Limp Mode." This creates a severe safety hazard by instantly dropping vehicle velocity on active interstates and high-speed roadways, leaving the vehicle unable to accelerate out of harms way or merge safely, placing myself, my passengers, and surrounding motorists at immediate risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. The malfunction has been repeatedly confirmed and documented by authorized GM service agent Rountree Moore Chevrolet (Lake City, FL) across three separate service visits. The dealer confirmed the active trouble codes and attempted various repairs (including Transmission Control Module reprogramming on 04/24/2026, engine harness chafing repairs on 05/19/2026, and auxiliary fluid/battery adjustments on 05/21/2026). While exiting a highway via an off-ramp, the vehicle experienced a sudden mechanical failure consistent with internal engine/bearing failure. During deceleration on the off-ramp, the engine began to shudder violently and immediately lost power. The vehicle was unable to maintain normal operation and became unsafe in an active traffic environment. After coming to a stop, the engine would not restart and the vehicle was completely inoperable. There were no prior warning signs or alerts before the failure occurred. The issue developed abruptly while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle required towing and dealer inspection. Diagnosis confirmed internal engine damage / bearing failure / engine seizure. The repair required engine replacement This failure is consistent with widely reported issues involving GM 6.2L V8 engines (model years 2019–2024) experiencing bearing failure and catastrophic engine damage. The same failure characteristics appear to be present in this vehicle. This represents a serious safety concern due to the sudden and complete loss of engine power and inability to restart the vehicle while in a traffic environment, creating risk of collision or roadway obstruction. The vehicle had approximately 65,000 miles at the time of failure.

While driving, the truck suddenly Boggs down and gets sluggish. A message appeared once that said reduced acceleration drive with care. It is dangerous because it loses power and stalls in front of other vehicles. I took it to the dealership on Friday the 17th and they said it was the crank position sensor. They ordered the part and I took it back on Monday the 20th and they replaced the sensor. Today, while driving down the highway it did the same thing again. I will be taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. The truck has 26,000 miles on it.

I am reporting a safety defect involving a GM 6.2L L87 engine. My vehicle was included in the GM recall related to engine failure (loss of propulsion). The recall remedy was performed, and the engine was replaced under recall/warranty in August 2025. After the recall repair and engine replacement, the vehicle experienced a second catastrophic engine failure, on April 21st. The engine failed again while on a highway, resulting in loss of vehicle function and leaving me stranded. This occurred after the manufacturer had already attempted to remedy the defect. The vehicle has now been out of service for an extended period (approximately 2.5 months total across both events - and ongoing), and I am continuing to make payments on a vehicle that is not operable. This appears to be a failure of the recall remedy itself, not just the original defect. I am concerned this represents a broader safety issue involving post-recall failures of the L87 engine, as currently under investigation. I am requesting that this incident be included in the ongoing federal investigation into GM 6.2L engine failures.

Was driving the truck on the highway at 75mph when suddenly the motor revved up in rpm’s and vehicle lost all power. There was no warning lights or any limp mode or anything as such as far as warning. The truck lost all power and could hear metal to metal sounds and turned off the motor. I was able to coast the truck to an off ramp in 70mph traffic. The truck would not turn back on and vehicle was immobile, had to have the vehicle towed by a flatbed to a gm dealer near by. The dealer gave me a loaner pickup and hasn’t looked at my vehicle yet. I bought this pickup less then 3 weeks ago and the L87 recall and oil change had been done prior to me buying it. I was just happy that the truck didnt full shut down at that speed and cause a crash etc. Dealer said motor failure to me and couldn’t confirm a turn around time frame for my truck to get back to me.

On 04/16/2026, while driving, vehicle received and completed a software/firmware OTA update. A second update completion prompt was received while still in motion. Shortly after, while stopped at a traffic light, the auto-start/stop system re-engaged and the vehicle appeared to restart normally. Upon stopping to refuel, remote key fob auto-start failed to respond. Vehicle was started manually and driven to the next location. On arrival, remote key fob auto-start failed again. Used interior push-to-start — vehicle started but displayed an active Check Engine Light. Connected vehicle app diagnostic scan of the Engine and Transmission System returned two WARNING flags requiring service: - Transmission System — Schedule Service Now - Engine Electrical System including Charging and Starting System — Schedule Service Now All other scanned systems (Air Induction, Fuel Management, Engine Cooling, Throttle Control, Ignition, Variable Valve Timing, 4WD, Displacement on Demand) returned OK. Both faults appeared immediately following the OTA update. Remote start failure at two consecutive locations and the Check Engine Light activation are directly correlated in timing with the update applied on 04/16/2026. 2024 6.2L Silverado Trail Boss, engine failure at 22k miles on 4/13/26. Dealer confirmed the failure (not sure which bearings seized since engine has not been torn down yet, was either crank or rod bearings) and ordered a new engine 4/14/26. I was driving on the interstate and the engine started lightly shuddering during acceleration, showing some loss in power and shifting oddly but no check engine lights and nothing too alarming to immediately pull over. After several miles of this, the engine started to emit a loud metal on metal squeaking/scraping sound when on the throttle but stopped when I would back off the throttle. About a mile later, the truck just shut off at 70mph and went to neutral as I was about to get off an exit to evaluate the issues. Dash said push button to restart as I was coasting, but it wouldn't restart so I put on my hazards and pulled to the shoulder of the highway. Once stopped, it automatically shifted to park and would not crank or allow me to shift to neutral. Flatbed was called and brought it to the dealer. Side note: The truck passed the Pico test 1/15/26 at 20k miles and was sent on my way with the thicker 0W-40 oil. Oil was changed every 5k miles and ran 93 octane.

I was traveling at highway speeds when the engine suffered a sudden and catastrophic mechanical failure without any prior warning lights or symptoms. The engine began knocking violently, locked up and put the truck into a brief skid before freeing up, followed by an immediate loss of oil pressure and a total loss of motive power. This sudden shutdown caused a brief loss of vehicle control as the power steering assist was compromised, creating a hectic and dangerous situation while I was surrounded by high-speed traffic. I was forced to navigate across multiple lanes to reach the shoulder. Crucially, this vehicle had the L87 Safety Recall (NHTSA Recall 25V-274 / GM Program N252494000) performed on July 8, 2025. The "remedy" provided by the manufacturer—which involved an oil viscosity change and a new oil cap—failed to prevent the catastrophic bearing/crankshaft failure it was intended to address. This represents a failed recall remedy that resulted in a life-threatening safety event. The vehicle is currently at a dealership awaiting a complete engine replacement.

What is happening with my vehicle is a major safety concern in my opinion for myself and for my family. I purchased the vehicle on February 18,2026 from Ryan Ford in sealy,TX with approx 32,800 miles. The first incident was on March 16 with 33,718 miles, my daughter and I went to leave the Lowe’s parking lot and my vehicle would not go in reverse. It however would go in drive, so after being pushed back out of the parking spot we left for our home.(this part of not going in reverse I do have on video) Once on the feeder road and up to approx 45mph my vehicle went completely out of gear and had to coast to a stop on the side the road. Turned vehicle off and on and it went back in gear, after making it home I made and appointment with the dealership and dropped it off that day. I was informed no codes came up and the dealership could not get the issue to duplicate so I received my vehicle back. The second incident was on March 21 trying to leave the convenient store, I put my vehicle in reverse and pressed on the gas to go backward and nothing happened. Then I pressed on the gas again and it threw my vehicle in reverse and jolted my truck back several feet before I could press on the brake. Luckily no one or no object was behind me. The third incident was on April 3rd trying to leave Walmart. My truck would not go in reverse again. I pressed the gas pedal several times and out of nowhere again it threw itself in reverse and jolted my truck back again. (I also have this on video

Summary of Incident: On March 28, 2026, while traveling at 70 MPH on the Florida Turnpike, the vehicle suffered an instantaneous loss of motive power. The engine died abruptly with no warning. Upon reaching the shoulder, the electronic transmission locked, refusing to shift into Neutral or Park. The engine cranks but will not start. 1. Component Failure & Availability: The exact component is currently unknown, but the failure involves the Powertrain, Fuel System, and Electronic Transmission Control. The vehicle is currently at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection by the manufacturer or NHTSA upon request. 2. Safety Risk: The sudden loss of power at highway speeds created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision. Because the electronic transmission locked and would not allow the vehicle to be shifted into Neutral, it became a fixed object on a high-speed shoulder. It could not be pushed to a safer location, increasing the risk of a secondary accident. 3. Problem Reproduction: The vehicle was towed directly to an authorized Chevrolet dealership. As of this filing, the dealership is in possession of the vehicle, but the failure has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a technician as they are awaiting formal diagnostic commencement. 4. Inspections: The vehicle was inspected by a roadside towing professional for transport. It is currently at the manufacturer’s authorized service center awaiting a formal diagnostic inspection. I am writing to report a serious safety concern involving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado that resulted in a child being locked inside the vehicle with the key fob present inside the car. On March 25 2026, after parking and turning off the vehicle, I exited the driver’s seat with my key fob inside my purse, which remained in the front of the vehicle. I then walked around to remove my daughter from the back seat. During that time, she climbed into the front seat and pressed the interior door lock button, locking all doors. My daughter has autism and is not able to follow instructions or unlock the vehicle on command. As a result, she was locked inside the vehicle with the key fob present inside, and I was unable to gain access from the outside. The vehicle did not prevent the lock from engaging, nor did it allow me to open the door despite the key being inside the vehicle. This situation required emergency assistance (911) to safely remove her from the vehicle. I understand that many vehicles have “lockout prevention” features; however, in this case, the system did not account for a vulnerable occupant inside the vehicle. Allowing the vehicle to be locked from the interior while the key fob is inside—and without any external override—creates a significant child safety risk. I am requesting that Chevrolet review this design behavior as a potential safety issue, specifically: - Why the vehicle allows interior locking when a key fob is detected inside - Why there is no external overr

I Click further into the app warning and it said, Engines equipped with this system use sensors that regulate the opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves to optimize performance and efficiency. I live 3 and a half hours away fro. The dealership so I had some mechanics look at the truck just to see if they could pin point what the issues was exactly. They didnt pull or work on anything just looked around listened and plugged in a code reader. The code reader found some codes that had to do with 3rd stage valve timing issues and VVT. And 1 or 2 other codes. But they didnt know exactly what was wrong. I had my oil changed 1 more time to see if maybe that was the issue. It did not fix the issue. I called the dealership to make a appointment. I brought it in and get a call that the cam shaft need to be replaced. It was in the shop for about a month and when they said it was ready. I went to pick it up and as I was pulling out of the dealership parking lot. The check engine light came on and I drove back and it had the same codes. And now it is being worked on again. On 1/31/2026, while returning from an AKC event with my XXX year old border collie, I was traveling on IXXX at approximately 70MPH in the left hand lane passing other traffic. As I started up a hill in a remote area, I began to hear a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment that sounded like a rod knocking and the truck began to struggle to continue up the hill. It then lost all power, a message stating to shift to neutral and restart flashed on infotainment screen, I shifted to neutral and pushed the start button, but everything went blank. I had to struggle to merge back into right lane and eventually over to the breakdown lane, approximately 5 miles from the nearest exit. I was forced to remain on the side of a busy interstate for approximately two hours during an unusually cold day for Florida that consisted of snow flurries while waiting for roadside assistance. Luckily, I was able to arrive at the dealership 5 minutes before closing and was able to get my truck checked in. The service writer knew exactly what the likely issue was when I described my ordeal, and it was partially confirmed when she pulled the Christmas tree of codes from the computer that my truck was throwing. It should be noted that the truck would not restart after the catastrophic failure that stopped the motor at 70MPH on the interstate and would not shift to neutral for the tow truck operator to load or unload onto flatbed. Subsequently, Techs determined that engine failed due to suspected

The tailgate has opened 4 times while I’ve been driving. There was one incident in which an object in the truck bed fell out onto the road. Other drivers are at risk for serious injury or death due to objects falling out. I have read other incidents of this happening online to the Silverado 1500 models however Chevy has only issued recalls for the 2500 and 3500 models. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer and they will be inspecting it in the next coming days. There were no warning lamps or messages indicating failure or that my tailgate was open. I’ve provided photo documentation showing me closing the tailgate as well as a photo of the object falling onto the road.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
