BRAKING SYSTEM HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR A LONG TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THERE THE MECHANICS REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND REAR BRAKE PADS. WE CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. WE WERE NOT AWARE OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS TILL RECENTLY SO WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO DEALER. MILEAGE WAS 169201. THE BRAKES WERE FIRST INSPECTED 6-29-22. THE MILEAGE AT THAT TIME WAS WELL BELOW YOUR CUTOFF OF 150,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS. THE DEALERS HANDLING OF THIS DOES SEEM UNREASONABLE. THIS IS MY HUSBANDS VEHICLE I REALLY DONT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT DATES. WHILE BACKING UP HIS TRAILER HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SEVERAL DENTS ON THE SIDE OF IT SHOWS BRAKING PROBLEMS. I THINK 1900.00 IS EXTREME TO REPAIR WHAT YOUR COMPANY IS WELL AWARE OF IS A PROBLEM. YOUR CUSTOMERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THIS WAS POSSIBLE RATHER THAN LEAVING THEM TO FIGURE OUT WHERE TO HAVE IT CHECKED. I HOPE THIS WILL CONVINCE YOUR COMPANY TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. THAT WILL DETERMINE WHAT VEHICLE WE WILL PURCHASE NEXT.
At slow speeds, such as parking lots and moving in slow traffic, the brakes seem to fail or act like they are giving out.
The TRAILER STABIZER warning keeps coming on.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 210,000.
After start up and when putting the vehicle into drive the transmission seemed to not recognize and then began clunking into gear. While driving it felt like it was slipping and racing with no response. The vehicle became to precarious to drive on the road because the gears wouldn't shift and the vehicle decelerated quickly and would not accelerate upon demand. I felt as if I could endanger others and lose control and endanger myself and the occupants of the vehicle. We chose not to drive it and bring it in for an assessment and ultimately was told of the problem and agreed to the repair to gain our vehicle back in safe working condition. The vehicle needed a total transmission rebuild and torque converter as well as other tranny related items. No warning lights but we did begin to hear a whining noise while cycling through what seemed to be the gears.
Gas tank crack discovered at the top of the gas tank where the fuel system connects to the tank. No previous damage (such as a collision) or excessive (hard) driving has occurred to the vehicle. Vehicle has been maintained according to manufacturer's recommendations.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,876.
My Trailer Brake System starts going off and showing "Trailer Brake System" at the bottom it states Dismiss. It is a safety issue and manufacturing malfunctioning of the truck. There should be a recall in place due to other consumers complaining about this situation.
Torque Converter failure. The torque converter went out suddenly with no warning of possible problems. No engine, or transmission warning lights. Just suddenly started jerking when accelerating. RPMs jump every time it jerks.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated upon entering the vehicle and attempting to latch the front driver’s side seat belt, the seat belt anchor detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the cause of the failure was determined to be that the seat belt lap anchor tensioner cable had detached and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the same failure had previously occurred in 2016 and was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V209000 (Seat Belts). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was transferred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 95,895.

My transmission is not shifting into gear and is not pulling anymore. Also, the transmission has been shifting hard and jerking into and out of gear while driving. The jerking into gear while driving has been going on since I purchased the truck in 2015. I told the Chevrolet dealership about it a few times. I even asked if there was a recall. Their answer was, no recall and all of the Silverado transmission pull like that.
I bought this vehicle last November from Shea. When we bought the truck we noticed the check engine light, but was told that we would have to bring it back in for inspection. The last vehicle we bought from Shea it had a 30 day return and it would fix any problems. Not so with this time. So, we purchased a Platinum warranty which was a little above $2K and we believed would cover these issues. That was not the case. We had a friend of ours who is a GM Mechanic look it over and told us that it needed a high pressure fuel pump. So when I brought the vehicle in on January 22nd I told the service person at the desk that we had a platinum warranty and told him that I had a GM technician tell me that it needed a high pressure fuel pump. After sitting for six hours he comes out and tells me that I needed a high pressure fuel pump and tells me it will cost me $1400.00+ to have it fixed and it would not be covered by my warranty. And then tells me that the work they did today would cost me $150.00. I told him when I came in what the problem was. I understand that they need to do their own diagnostics, but why didn't they tell me that the part would not be covered by the platinum warranty. We paid $23K for the truck, plus an additional $2k+ for the warranty and now an additional $1,400.00-$1,500.00 for the fuel pump. So, yes we are not happy and will give a second thought to ever using Shea again. I understand that this memo will not change things, but I want you to understand that pri
The frame for my 2015 Chevy Silverado truck failed inspection for excessive rust on the frame, all around it. It could not even be put on a lift. Other Chevy Silverados have been recalled for this rampant issue and yet not this particular model. It is not safe to drive, it's an expensive problem to fix and very unfair the Chevy is not taking responsibility for it.
I bought the truck around [XXX] from Barkau CDJR, Freeport IL. Two hours away from the dealer the truck went completely dead in traffic. A message appeared on the info screen that said roll down the drivers window and back up to reset the system when the truck finally restarted. Got home with it and called the dealer and let the know. In the next few weeks it happened a couple of more times. It was taken to Tapper Chevrolet in Paw Paw, MI to be serviced. The tech thought it was a problem in the fuse Block and replaced that, after that on the week end the truck was returned the problem happened 3 times. Took it back to Tapper's and they checked it again, had it for 4 days and could not replicate the problem. Kept having issues and took it to 1st Choice Automotive LLC in Dowagiac, MI, he went through the wiring and cleaned some grounds and it seemed to work for a while. Now it is doing the same thing again. It just shuts down randomly for no reason. You lose steering, brakes, you have no control when it happens and no warning when it is going to happen. Have searched You Tube and have seen many other complaints of the same problem with no solution. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

COLLAPSED LIFTER ON DRIVER SIDE. LIFTERS, VALVE COVER GASKET, HEAD BOLTS VALVE COVER GASKET OIL COOLANT FUEL PIPES NEED REPLACING. DEALER CONFIRMED THIS ISSUE AND HAS INSPECTED. VEHICLE WAS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE PRIOR TO
My radio changes channels on its own. It disconnects my Bluetooth connection for no reason. The display screen changes from one option to another randomly. This has been happening for over a year now. My research on the internet shows many customers had their radios replaced. Soon thereafter the issue starts all over again.
My 2015 Silverado was purchased new and around October 2023 the trailer brake service warning started popping up. I was concerned with pulling any sort of trailer that my safety would be at risk, and also the constant noise as a distraction. I have taken to dealer for inspection, but nothing was able to be done at the time. No other warnings or symptoms have appeared. Just the trailer brake service continually going off. Thanks.
Wax coating is evaporating exposing bare metal on the frame. This is the OEM coating and its failure will result premature degradation of the frame of the truck.
I began to smell gas near my gas tank. Upon further inspection, I noticed there was gas leaking down the side of the tank. I then tilted my truck bed to look at the leak from above the tank and I noticed that the plastic piece connector coming out of the fuel pump housing to the supply line was pumping a stream of gas all over the top of the tank. I went to disconnect the hose and the plastic piece broke instantly fully cracking apart. Thankfully this was in my driveway and not driving as this would have been very dangerous. There was no warning light and this would have sprayed fuel everywhere, especially at speed. There are hot parts all over there and would probably resulted in a fire, and at the very least the truck to shut off while driving. I did not take it to a dealer as the damage was extremely obvious. The truck has never been in a crash and I’ve never changed out any components involving the fueling system, meaning that it simply broke apart on its own. This appears to be a common problem and yet it is not a recall. I had to spend my own money replacing the fuel pump and housing in the tank, as well as the supply line connector as the plastic on that also failed. I started smelling gas and then a few days later is when I found the issue, but I had been driving the truck, including at highway speeds. The truck has 100,365 miles and I’m the original owner.
Three or four instances of loss of power steering while making a right hand turn. Power steering failed momentarily except for the last time, steering failed completely while turning into a parking lot and I ended up in the snowbank. All electrical to the vehicle shut off to the vehicle and could not be restored until a new battery was installed. The new battery was completely discharged overnight. Possible related incidents are that several times I have had a message that the security system has been compromised, and I have been locked out of my vehicle spontaneously. I found that there is a recall for this year and model for this issue, but my VIN does not connect to any recall issued. I am afraid to drive this vehicle until this is corrected.
Roof top air bags had recall about year ago that were fixed. Now roof air bags deployed as driving on new pavement going 48mph. No warning at all. Caused to go in ditch but no major injury or damage. Police tool incident report but could do anything else.truck is currently at the dealer and haven't been able to figure out why this happened.
Used the remote start feature to warm up my truck (automatically turns on rear defrost). Upon entering the vehicle I could smell smoke. While driving I turned around and noticed smoke pouring from rear window. I turned off the rear defrost and the window exploded! I contacted the dealer and they claimed the recall had already been completed and they could not assist me.
Brakes are hard at low speeds
Rear window started smoking while rear defrost was turned on the rubber seal started melting smoke started coming between cabe and truck bed window scattered after I got out and closed the door
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that there was an abnormal gasoline odor outside the vehicle. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the odor of gasoline was much stronger in the cabin of the vehicle. The contact looked underneath the vehicle and observed that fuel was leaking excessively from the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: SB 10057680-1621 High-Pressure Fuel Pump Leak (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
The transmission has failed in less than 150,000 miles. I was driving in traffic and lost gears. I stopped and tried to get back going and I was stuck being a traffic hazard to the other motorist. I talked to a local transmission shop and he stated that the 2014-2016 Silverados are known for transmission problems even when they were new. He’s rebuilt hundreds of them and Chevrolet should have recalled and fixed them. There were no warning lights or anything through the truck.
Brakes fail at low speeds,or cruising in to a parking lot

The vehicle lost power steering and being an electronic system, there is nowhere to add fluid to the system. There was a recall for this issue from 2018 to 2019 and the repair service was performed on this vehicle. I now have to pay for the repairs that were once covered under a recall for a known issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 75 MPH and overtaking another vehicle, the engine made an abnormal clunking sound, and the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the engine started making abnormal knocking sounds. The contact's husband pulled into an AutoZone parking lot, where it was diagnosed and determined that cylinder #6 was misfiring and that the knock sensor had failed. The contact stated that her husband replaced the parts; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that cylinder #6 was misfiring. The dealer determined that the lifters needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that further inspection was required to determine whether the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,186.
Was on my way to work the morning of 11/11/23, the rear window defroster was on. I saw in the rear-view mirror smoke at the rear window. The smoke only lasted a few seconds. About 10 seconds after the smoke stopped there was a loud bang inside the truck. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw that the right-side glass in the slider had shattered. The old window is still in the vehicle. I am in the process of getting a new power sliding window and getting the money together to have it replaced. I have not taken the tuck to a Chevrolet dealer to have them inspect it. I found an article that there is a recall for the rear window defroster in Canada, recall # N192220470.
While backing up on an incline the brakes stop working and pedal vibrates like abs is kicking in. Have to use e brake to stop

Transmission sounds different and clunks lightly once in a while. There is a known problem w this type of transmission but GM is not accepting it as a recall concern and many dealers are ignoring repairs are needed.
Electric power steering ,loses power ,on board computer lost memory ,clock went 0,active fuel management mileage recorder to 0,M/L smog number to no ready

As I was driving, the brakes got all Smashy the pedal locked and the brakes started grinding. I couldn’t stop the truck anymore. I couldn’t do absolutely anything I had to stop and hit a divider from a parking structure to be able to stop my truck. My truck is a 2015 Chevy Silverado, I do maintenance all the time I almost took out four cars and injured. These people along with myself. This is uncalled for something is wrong with my brakes. I took a video right after and you see on the video how the brake is just stuck it won’t even go in or anything you hear , a marshmallow sound you feel the grinding it’s horrible .
While going through an S curve the dash lights went dark and engine quit while pulling a trailer. Had no power steering or brakes. Put it in neutral and was able to get engine started again before hitting a car coming from the other direction. On initial start up, there was a message "action required, open then close driver window". All dash settings for radio, information and media had to be reset. This is dangerous, vehicle shutting down randomly, as it could cause accident and injury or even death.
#1- I had my truck in a few years ago for a brake issues that they said was a computer reprogramming issue and vacuum pump. They repaired and the issue slowly came back. Now it feels as if there is little to no assist with braking and stopping distance is growing. I feel like my family is at risk if there were ever to be a time I need to brake hard or fast. Theire are no warning lamps but obvious excessive braking effort and can feel the brake rotors through the pedal. #2- Intermittently, at low speeds, pulling into parking lots and parking spaces while turning the steering wheel, electrical power cuts out, steering wheel jerks out of hand, and a dash light comes on saying "service stabilitrack". This is a huge safety issue that could certainly cause an accident. I have Googled this very common issue with my year Chevy Silverado and personally checked the grounds on the left and right under the front dash panel by each speaker and found them to be clean and tight. This leads me to believe it is something else and electrical and a huge safety problem. Only issue is that it is very random and hard to replicate. Seems to happen on hot days when I've been driving a lot. I just got off the phone with the local dealership and they are saying there are no other recalls aside from the current one for air bag issues which I just scheduled. But these other issues I feel are definitely safety manufacturer defects/issues especially being that it has been in for the brake issue once alrea
The power assist for the brakes intermittently goes out and does not work, typically happens at low speed like when parking. The most recent time this started happening a ‘brake assist’ notification appeared on my dashboard. This is a safety concern. I see a recall for my model and year, but when I inquired was told my VIN was not covered. The existing recall number that I believe should be expanded to cover my VIN is recall number N192268490 and is also listed as NHSTA campaign numbers 19V645 and 20V603. Please look into this and expand the recall to cover my vehicle and others that should be covered for this safety defect.

The contact stated that while shifted into reverse, he heard a popping sound throughout the vehicle and all the electrical system flickered. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering). An undisclosed dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the recall had expired and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. Upon purchasing a New 2015 Silverado my factory paint started pealing around the rear doors approx. 1 year after owning the truck. Upon first sight of the pealing paint I took the truck back to the GM dealer and pointed out the 2 rear doors and the flaking paint. They told me that since I was out of bumper to bumper warranty coverage and over the 36,000 mile warranty they couldn't do anything for me. The issue was getting worse so I took it back again and this time I went through GM Corp. and they offered to give me a discount on the paint job to fix the issue. I'm sorry but a discount on a FACTORY PROBLEM is NOT ACCEPTABLE....especially if its going to cost me $2,000 of my own money to fix a GM PROBLEM!!!!

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
