Received a notice about a safety recall for faulty rear suspension toe links. this was 8 months ago with no update on a remedy. This is completely unacceptable as this is deemed a safety issue and could cause a crash!

ALL ELECTRICAL INSIDE CAR GOES OUT OR ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL DASH GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, RADIO, HEAT/AC, TURN SIGNALS, ETC. CAR STILL RUNS BUT NOTHING ON INSIDE WORKS. I do not know if this control outage effects the ABS or Steering. It only last for a few seconds. It has happened several time will drive 50 to 70 MPH. I've let off the gas and try not to panic. Everything comes back on and I continue home. I'm scared to drive my car

Instrument cluster goes out and is available for inspection. It first went out in the middle of driving 80 on the freeway with others in my vehicle. I have taken it to a Point S mechanic who has confirmed the issue and can be easily recreated just by turning the car on. Nobody has inspected other than a mechanic because I did not know that was even an option. No, there was absolutely no warning to indicate the issue, only the check engine light would work and that issue has been temporarily resolved. Due to research, I, along with many others, have come to the conclusion that it is a fault in manufacturing where one of the resisters in the cluster was not soldered correctly causing a failure in connection. I believe there should have been a recall on the equipment, especially seeing as how common this issue is and that the product isn't even made/sold anymore. It is upsetting to see the ratio of 2 investigations compared to over 700 complaints.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while attempting to turn on the front windshield defroster, the defroster failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the lever for the defrost door was broken and the blower motor was faulty. The dealer replaced the HVAC mode cam and levers however, the failure recurred with air coming out of different vents, not where it was designated. Additionally, the battery was failing causing the interior and exterior lights to dim. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the body control module needed to be flashed. The vehicle was taken to another dealer Piehl Chevrolet Buick GMC of Princeton (1402 N Main St, Princeton, IL 61356), and diagnosed that the mode actuator cam had failed and the dashboard was disassembled to access the actuator mode cam and found that the gears were not positioned correctly. The second dealer Piehl Chevrolet Buick GMC of Princeton repositioned the gears and flashed the body control module. The contact stated that the failure persisted and the vehicle was taken back Piehl Chevrolet Buick GMC of Princeton and the air delivery was inspected and found that while the vehicle was turned off with the key not in the ignition, the door module would move inadvertently, the doors and gears were possibly broken by the previous dealer when the HVAC mode cam and levers were replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of

My vehicle (2013 Malibu) has a active recall that was issued 12-10-20 related to the tow links in the rear suspension. As of today, it has been over seven months and GM does not have a remedy to fix the issue with the suspension. As stated in the recall notice, if this problem is not remedied, it could lead to a crash. I find it unacceptable that GM has yet to find a solution to remedy this safety issue.

Left rear toe link broke while driving causing the car to go out of control. Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic at the time. So no collision. The part basically just snapped and broke. Had the car towed and repaired at the Chevy dealer in Lowell Michigan….But the charged me about $334.
My whole dash board went out why i was driving could not see my speed or how much gas i have nothing was coming up

2013 Malibu is shutting off on its own while driving, vehicle restarts on its own. This occurs randomly when driving down the road. Some times vehicle is turning, sometimes it is when the vehicle is going straight. This first happened about May 15, 2021. It happened 3 times May 22, 2021. Steering does not work while engine is off. This is a very dangerous. We noticed radio stops working. We took it to Berger Chevrolet May 17,2021. They could not find a problem. They said a while guess would be to change the battery. We did not have battery changed.
ALL ELECTRICAL INSIDE CAR GOES OUT OR ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL DASH GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, RADIO, HEAT/AC, TURN SIGNALS, ETC. CAR STILL RUNS BUT NOTHING ON INSIDE WORKS.
ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, VEHICLE HAS SHUT COMPLETELY OFF. BECAUSE IT IS AN ECO ENGINE, I ASSUMED IT WAS SIMPLY IDLING DOWN, WHILE STATIONARY A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, AS USUAL BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF WAS AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, AND DRIVE THROUGH LANES. AND THEN THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MILES PER HOUR. SHORTLY AFTER THAT INCIDENT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT THE CAR HAS STILL HAD TO BE JUMPED OFF THREE TIMES SINCE THE REPLACEMENT. AND WHEN I HAD THOSE CODES REPAIRED, NOW THE VEHICLE DRIVES AS IF IT ISN'T GETTING GAS AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN IT WILL JERK AND ACCELERATE QUICKLY. LASTLY, WHEN THE BRAKES ARE USED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE PEDAL WILL SUDDENLY GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD, THEN COME AND TIGHTEN TO POINT I CAN BARELY PRESS THE BRAKES. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE MECHANICS DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS CAUSING THAT ISSUE TO OCCUR.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER'S RECALL THAT WAS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE RECALL HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000.
GOT A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE N202308930 ON JANUARY 2021 AND STILL NO INFO ABOUT PARTS TO REPAIR. I HAVE A KID ABOUT TO DRIVE FROM INDIANA TO CONNECTICUT AND I'M A LITTLE CONCERNED.
THE VEHICLE HAS MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. JUST LAST WEEK I STARTED THE CAR IT MADE A NOISE AS I WAS DRIVING I HAD NO SPEEDOMETER, NO BLINKERS. NO RADIO ON GAS GAUGE AND NO TEMP GAUGE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR STALL IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY AND NO RECALL? IT'S BASICALLY A DEATH 🪤

TL* THE CONTACT'S FRIEND OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER FRIEND WAS DRIVING 10 MPH, THE BATTERY SAVER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT-OFF. UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT TOOK THE BATTERY TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HER THAT HER BATTERY FUNCTION WAS OPERATING AT FULL CAPACITY AND WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED CHAS. H. JENKINS AND CO. (307 NC-42, AHOSKIE, NC 27910) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VIN IN RELATION TO THE FAILURE. THE STEERING WHEEL STICKS/LOCKS UP ON LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS, USUALLY WHILE DRIVING ON STREET ROADS. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKED WHILE SWITCHING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE RADIO ALSO BLANKS IN/OUT OFTEN WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, SOMETIMES IN CONJUNCTION WITH STEERING ISSUES. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR A SHORT TIME AND BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON REPEATED OCCASIONS WITHOUT ANY LUCK WITH DUPLICATION OR RESOLUTION. ALSO, THE PENDING PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL REGARDING THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO NO AVAILABILITY OF PARTS FROM MANUFACTURER. I'VE PAID FOR THIS USED VEHICLE BUT INHERITED THESE ISSUES WHICH ARE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS AND VERY BAD BUSINESS. (SUPPORTING DOCS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST)
MY CAR FAILED INSPECTION BECAUSE OF "SERVICE AIRBAG" LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD.
THIS CAR AND NEWS THAT ALWAYS SUNNY ALLAH STOP OUR VEHICLE BATTERIES DEAD CITY ALTERNATING BATTERY PARTICLES AT 09:00 SO GENERATOR ALTERNATIVES LAST CALL IT IN THE BATTERY WAS CHARGING 50 PICKED UP YESTERDAY AND TODAY THE CAR THE SAME THING OVER ANDSTOP IN THE MIDDLE STREAM STAY IN YOUR DEAD NO POWER AT ALL
THERE IS A RECALL(FROM GM) REGARDING REAR TOE LINKS THAT RECEIVED EXCESSIVE ELECTROCOATING CORROSION PROTECTION WHICH COULD CAUSE THE E-COAT TO BECOME BRITTLE AND BREAK AWAY WHEN CONTACTED BY ROAD DEBRIS. THIS CAN REDUCE THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
I HAVE KEPT UP REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON IT. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS AN ISSUES WITH STALLING WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AFTER DRIVING IT OF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT AND I'VE SPENT SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TAKING IT TO OTHER REPAIR SHOPS. IT CAN BE A SAFE ISSUE IF I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSTATE AT A STOP TRYING TO TURN AND I NEED TO ACCELERATE. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY RECALLS FOR THIS MODEL. I HAVE HAVING THIS PROBLEM STARTING BACK IN 2020...WE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM BUT NOTHING...IT EVEN DOES IT WHEN I'M TRYING TO PARK

I BEEN HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2018 NOTHING BUT ISSUES FEW MONTHS HAVING THIS VEHICLE I START EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH RADIO COMING ON AND GOING OFF FOR NO REASON SO TOOK IT TO GET LOOKED AT THE SAID IT WAS FROM WIRING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT THAT WAS CAUSING IT SO I PAID $400 TO GET THAT FIXED. BUT STILL WAS AND IS HAVING SAME ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL AND NOW MY HEAT COMES ON BY ITSELF EVEN WHEN THE KNOB IS IN THE OFF POSITION. MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING GOES OFF EVEN WHEN NO ONES IN THE SEAT. AND TO TOP IT OFF MY CAR BEEN RUNNING BAD ENGINE OVERHEATING BUT NOTHING ON MY DASHBOARD IS TELLING ME THAT BUT I CAN SMELL BURNING FROM MY ENGINE COMING THROUGH MY VENTS AND IT'S EXHAUSTING. I HAVE BEEN TO MANY SHOPS TO GET IT LOOKED AT BUT THEY KEEP SAYING NOTHING WRONG NO CODES WHERE COMING UP NOR WAS MY ENGINE LIGHT ON. BUT AS OF 3/29/2021 I HAD MULTIPLE ICONS POP UP ON MY DASHBOARD AND NOW MY ENGINE LIGHT ON. SO I FINALLY GOT A CODE P228D COME UP AND I BEEN EXPLAINING TO AUTO SHOPS THAT'S SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE IT'S NOT WANTING TO PICK UP SPEED. SO WHAT CAN I DO I'M TIRED SPENDING MONEY TO GET IT LOOKED AT AND ALL I'M GETTING FROM PEOPLE NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR VEHICLE. BUT THERE IS TRULY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT DOES THIS NO MATTER WHERE I'M AT ON HIGHWAY, STREET, WHEN I'M IDLE IT'S A LOUD NOISE AND I CAN FEEL THE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE COMING THROUGH THE FLOOR OF MY VEHICLE
DRIVER SEAT ELECTRIC CONTROL PANEL SEPARATED FROM SEAT WITHIN 2 YEARS OF PURCHASE OF THE NEW VEHICLE. THE PANEL HANGS OFF OF THE SEAT AND OVER TIME HAS CAUSED THE SEAT TO BECOME DAMAGED, WHICH THEN CAUSED PINCHING AND SCRATCHING OF DRIVER'S LEG. ADDITIONALLY, THE DRIVER'S ELECTRIC SEAT POSITION PANEL ONLY SELECTIVELY OPERATES, WHICH MEANS THERE ARE LIKELY SHORTS IN THE WIRING DUE TO THE HANGING AWAY FROM THE SEAT AND WEARING OVER TIME WITH NO PROTECTION BY THE PLASTIC WHICH WAS BUILT TO ENCASE IT. THE BUTTONS NO LONGER WORK TO MOVE THE SEAT 80% OF THE TIME, WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE DRIVER CHANGES AND MAY BE TALLER OR SHORTER AND NEEDS ADJUSTMENTS, THOUGH THE SEAT WILL NOT MOVE. SADLY, I HAVE CHECKED MY VIN WITH THE RECALLS AND I AM ONLY ELIGIBLE FOR ONE RECALL CURRENTLY AND IT STATES THAT GM DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS NECESSARY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I READ THAT GM IS WAITING FOR PARTS FROM CHINA AND I BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE WASTING TIME WAITING FOR CHINA AND COULD USE COMPANY FROM UNITED STATES TO BUILD THE NEEDED PARTS. THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR INDICATOR RINGS, EVEN WITH THE SLIGHTEST WEIGHT OF SOMETHING LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS SHOULD NOT OCCUR, AS IT SHOULD ONLY RING IF THERE IS A WEIGHT BEARING INDICATIVE OF A HUMAN, NOT JUST A NOTEBOOK. IF IT RINGS DAILY FOR A NOTEBOOK, THEN THE CONCERN IS WHETHER THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY PROPERLY WHEN A CRASH ACTUALLY OCCURS.
CAR WILL POWER DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND IT WILL STALL AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. HAVE TAKEN IT IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS AND DIAGNOSED IT BUT NO CODES DISPLAY. HAVE PAID 1000'S OF DOLLARS FOR THE THINGS THEY SAY IT IS AND STILL NOT FIXED
THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP IN JUNE OF 2020. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES. MAJOR ISSUES INCLUDING A STALLING/PUTTERING VIBRATION WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT AS WELL AS JUST STARTING THE CAR, IT HAS AN EXTREMELY LOUD START AND ROUGH. HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES INCLUDING ONE VISIT TAKING 3 WEEKS WITH A RENTAL I WAS GIVEN. THE ISSUES ARE STILL ALL HERE, INCLUDING AN OVERHEATING WITH MY WARNING SYSTEMS NOT GIVING ANY SORT OF SIGNS OR LIGHTS, ONSTAR THANKFULLY TOLD ME TO GET THE VEHICLE IN IMMEDIATELY AS I WAS IN THE RED FOR OVERHEATING AND THE FAN STILL CONTINUES TO WORK AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. A SMELL OF BURNING COMES FROM THE CAR EVERYDAY AND OVERALL DOESN'T FEEL SAFE. THE OTHER ISSUE I BELIEVE IS STARTING TO OCCUR IS WITH THE RECALL OF THE CORRODED REAR TOE LINKS CAUSING MAJOR CLUNKING NOISES WHEN HITTING BUMPS AND TURNING.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
