2025 Cadillac XT6

Defect. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Cadillac XT5 and 2024-2025 Cadillac XT6 vehicles. The instrument panel may not illuminate when the hazard warning lights, high beams, or turn signals are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Controls and Displays" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Assoc. Equipment."

Risk. Without the illuminated reminder, the driver could fail to turn off the lights when no longer needed. Hazard warning lights, high beams, or turn signals that remain activated unintentionally can confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the instrument panel software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 13, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac's customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N242447940.

Year/Make/Model: 2025 Cadillac XT6 AWD Sport Mileage at time of incident: ~12,233 COMPONENT: Service Brakes, Hydraulic / Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM: While driving on a main road 1 mile away from the dealership, the brakes failed without warning. The vehicle was driven directly to the dealership (Les Stanford Cadillac, Dearborn, MI) for emergency inspection. This is the same defect that has now caused brake failure twice in approximately 5,500 miles: a brake booster vacuum sensor failure that previously triggered a brake assist warning and was "repaired" on 10/07/25 at 6,747 miles, then recurred and was "repaired" again on 05/29/26 at 12,233 miles. Both repairs replaced the brake booster vacuum sensor assembly, performed by the same dealership and same technician, yet the underlying defect has continued to recur. This is a serious safety defect that creates an unreasonable risk of loss of braking ability while driving, with potential for a crash, injury, or death to the driver, passengers, or other motorists. WHEN DID THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCUR: Originally October 2025; recurred June 2026 with loss of brakes on a main road. WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME: Vehicle driven directly to dealer for inspection following loss of brake function 1 mile away.

2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM CENTRAL [XXX] CADILLAC ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026 WITH 3,950 MILES. WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS OF DELIVERY THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED AN ABNORMAL ENGINE NOISE AT COLD START AND AN INTERMITTENT VIBRATION DURING DRIVING. I REPORTED BOTH SYMPTOMS TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC BY PHONE AND TEXT MESSAGE. DEALER PERSONNEL TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS "NORMAL" AND THAT "ALL CADILLAC/GM VEHICLES HAVE THAT ISSUE." BASED ON THAT ASSURANCE I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS FAMILY TRANSPORTATION, INCLUDING WITH MY MINOR CHILDREN ONBOARD, ONE OF WHOM IS A SPECIAL-NEEDS CHILD. IN APRIL 2026, APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO CENTRAL HOUSTON CADILLAC FOR AN UNRELATED CONCERN. AT THAT VISIT THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A CATASTROPHIC INTERNAL ENGINE DEFECT AND ADVISED THAT COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 DAYS WHILE THE ENGINE IS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE IN A NEARLY-NEW VEHICLE CREATES A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, STALLING, LOSS OF CONTROL, OR UNDERHOOD FIRE. THE DEALER'S INITIAL MISCHARACTERIZATION OF THE WARNING SYMPTOM (COLD-START KNOCK) AS "NORMAL" IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNING AND SUGGESTS A POTENTIAL PATTERN ACROSS 2024–2025 CADILLAC XT6 VEHICLES THAT NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE. NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. NO FIRE HAS OCCURRED. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED WITH CHILDREN ONBOARD AFTE

2025 CADILLAC XT6 AWD SPORT, VIN [XXX] , PURCHASED NEW FROM [XXX] [XXX] ON FEBRUARY 20, 2026. THE VEHICLE'S AUDIO SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVATES ALL SPEAKERS WITHOUT COMMAND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE CONDITION OCCURS UNPREDICTABLY AND PRODUCES A SUDDEN LOUD AUDIO EVENT INSIDE THE CABIN THAT STARTLES THE DRIVER AND CREATES A DRIVER- DISTRACTION HAZARD. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO DEVELOPED A PERSISTENT DASHBOARD RATTLE, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO THE SAME UNDERLYING BODY- CONTROL-MODULE OR WIRING ISSUE. I HAVE REPORTED THESE CONDITIONS TO CENTRAL [XXX] . THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE FOR AN UNRELATED CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE (SEE COMPANION NHTSA COMPLAINT FILED BY THIS CONSUMER). I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT SO NHTSA CAN EVALUATE WHETHER OTHER 2024–2026 CADILLAC XT6 VEHICLES HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME UNCOMMANDED AUDIO ACTIVATION AND WHETHER THE CONDITION WARRANTS INVESTIGATION. NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED. NO INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED. THE RISK IS DRIVER DISTRACTION FROM AN UNEXPECTED LOUD AUDIO EVENT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. 6700 miles on 2025 XT6 had an oil change a month ago. Noted red fluid leaking on driveway on 02-10-26. Immediately notified dealer. Brought car to Camargo Cadillac 9876 Montgomery Rd Cinti OH 513-402-2905. Brought car in 9:15 am 02-11-26 was informed at 10:00 am that the car is experiencing faulty transmission bolts and it will require lengthy repair including "dropping transmission to reach bolts." I have seen numerous complaints online with the same issue yet there is no recall at this time.

The rear camera blanks out when backing out of driveway into the sun. It prevents me from seeing cross traffic and pedestrians. The dealer looked at the system and said it something I had to live with. This seems to be an intermittent problem, as sometimes it suddenly starts to work, or when I back into the street over the curb gutter. If I back the vehicle into the garage and drive out into the sun, the front camera is not affected by the sun. I feel this is a safety hazard to pedestrians and other vehicles. The dealer seems very indifferent to the problem

I was backing up into a parking space in a parking garage. I was about halfway into the spot and was not in danger of hitting any vehicles or objects and my vehicle abruptly (extremely hard) braked.

During a cross- country trip, we had driven more than 300 miles, but the fuel gage indicated full, the Fuel Range Indicator showed a 688-mile range available in the tank which is much more than a 2025 Cadillac XT6 should indicate. The fuel gage indicated full even though it was not. I pulled the car over, shut it off and restarted, but it still erroneously indicated full. The indication remained that way for approximately 1400 miles. During the trip, while the gage still indicated full even though it was not, the tank was hard to fill. The gas station pump would automatically click off as if the tank was full, but it was not. I could only fill the tank by continuously over-riding the automatic shut off. This problem could not be duplicated by the dealership maintenance department on 4/29/2025. I picked the car up on 5/10/2025. I have a copy of the 4/29/2025 Service Report of the dealership.

When backing out of garage, but still in the garage, the rear- view camera shows a clear image. When the car backs into the sunlight from the garage the screen goes white for 10 seconds before the image reappears. The dealership Maintenance Department said that is normal! If I step on the brake while the image is white, the picture immediately comes back. If I place the transmission in park, it immediately comes back. When I drive the car at night, the rear-view mirror looks like I am looking through dense fog. The dealership Maintenance Department said that was normal because it is an infra red system and when LED headlights shine into it it causes this reaction! This car is still under manufacture warranty. I have owned two other identical XT6 Cadillacs and they did not do this. I have the 4/29/2025 Service Report of the dealership that reported the rear vision camera and back-up camera very foggy at night, but fine during day.
