The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who informed him they could offer no assistance with the headlight failure. The contact paid out of pocket to have the headlights repaired by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer offered no assistance after he was informed that he no longer qualified for the warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Dim lights housing burned out. Diagnosed by local mechanic and confirmed by Cadillac dealership in Smyrna, Ga. Service dept. says all SRX are having this problem, but he also stated that the recall was already done. The actual recall I received was about condensation in the lights which does not seem to be a problem for my vehicle, so if people are taking their vehicles in and being told the recall is already done, then they are probably not reporting the problem. This affects the safety of myself and others as I am unable to see well in dimly lit areas and I have to use my bright lights to avoid having an accident. There is no warning indicator for this. I can just tell that the lights are not working properly. Also the electronic touch screen that controls the radio and heating is not working properly. I cannot redirect the heat, so it only blows out of defrost vents. It’s very cold in the back for my 4 year old. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request and once I get the mechanic to look at it again, I can provide a picture of the burned out housing unit.

You can not see the highway at night.one has to slow down or stop to see.the only way to see is with the high beams on,which is unsafe for other drivers coming toward you.on other ocassions,i simply had to pull over to the side of the road.
Headlights are so dim I have to use highbeams to see properly so both the dim lighting and having to use highbeams is very dangerous. This is a ongoing problem I have had since I bought the vehicle new - seems to be getting worse and I find that I try not to drive at night because of it. I believe a recall by GM should be immediately initiated.

The Headlights for my car - Cadillac 2014 SRX At night the headlights are not bright enough to see and driving is dangerous. The car is available for inspection upon request. I was driving at night making a turn and I hit a small sign post on a back road because I could not see it! I put others at risk driving with my high beams on blinding the oncoming cars. If people are walking on the road I can not see them and therefore put them at risk. Additionally I put myself and my family at risk. I am a first responder working in a Doctor's office after dark and have to drive home on back roads that are very dark and not lit with street lights. The dealer at Ingersoll Auto of Danbury CT confirmed the headlights do not work properly and are not bright enough to see at night. They said they are defective. When I purchased the car and could not see at night driving I contacted my dealership. They said the problem has been a recall in Florida. I contacted Cadillac who said they sent me a letter and I should have them fixed.

Even after replacing bulbs in the headlights with the brightest bulbs available for the car, the headlights are too dim to see the road or anything while driving at night. This creates a safety hazard for the drivers and passengers in the car and other drivers on the road. Even the lines on roads are not clearly visible unless they are freshly painted. GM refuses to fix the problem and the replacement lenses do the same thing when paid to be replaced by the car owner.
PROBLEM: LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON 2014 CADILLAC SRX: With age, the low beam headlights become too dim to drive at night even though there is nothing wrong with the actual headlight bulb. The problem is related to the materials and design of the Cadillac SRX headlight assemblies. The reflector of the low beam headlight is made of plastic with a chrome coating. The heat of the OEM bulb deteriorates the chrome coating on the reflector until it appears as the dull white color of the plastic base material. Without the chrome coating the low beam headlights are very dim. Replacing the headlight bulb will not remedy the situation. The only fix is to replace the entire headlight assembly and this is usually done at a dealership because the whole front grill/bumper must be removed). During 2019 and 2020 Cadillac had a reimbursement program for people that complained or owners that received letters about the program which was handled by a 3rd party. There had been complaints to Cadillac about these low output headlights but they kept this problem out of the public realm by quietly settling with those customers. The estimate I received today from Everett Chevrolet-Cadillac in Hickory NC was $1900 to replace both headlight assemblies with factory original parts. I spoke to Cadillac customer care today and they said they may possibly assist in the replacement but I would have to submit a written estimate to them for review. If Cadillac is not responsible for this problem then why have they

The low beams are so dim, the vehicle cannot be driven at night. Even after replacing both bulbs there was no change. Vehicle can only be driven with high beams on. The dealer knows of the issue and said replacement would be the same system with the same problem. GMC offered a partial reimbursement, but has not corrected the defective system. If their offer was accepted, you would have to sign an agreement not to do anything legal regarding the issue in the future.
The floor mat does not stay in place and can get jammed behind the break peddle preventing breaking.
After the light housing recall, the lights are even worse at illuminating the road ahead, I only feel safe to see when the bights are on.
2014 CADILLAC SRX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SAFETY RECALL REPAIR WAS COMPLETED, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXHIBIT THE FAILURE.
I recently purchased this vehicle and have discovered that you cannot see the road at night with dim beam, the cause is the reflector compartment on the light modules burns up from the heat generated by the light and takes away the reflector capabilities that give out light to the road. I am forced to currently drive with main beam everywhere which is a big safety issue. I investigated to see if tis is just my car and have found on You Tube that it is a major issue with is car model. I am told that if I take the car in and pay to have it fixed that GM will reimburse in their own time. This is not acceptable, it should have been addressed by your department years ago and it is not on the recall list why? No accidents for us yet but we cannot drive the car after dark unless very important reason then full beam and my wife will not drive it at all at night! I will wait to hear back from you before I pursue this further but time is of the essence here so please respond soon. Thank You. The headlamp assembly is faulty. There is virtually no visibility from headlights. The headlamps were so bad, I was put at risk because I was almost hit head on by an oncoming vehicle at night. I had to veer off the road to avoid collision, risking mine and my daughter's life. It has been inspected by dealership and confirmed the headlight assembly faulty because of damage to internal component. An independent service center diagnosed and confirmed as well.

Headlights are dim on low beam. After multiple reports/complaints by owners no recall was issued. It is a safety issue.GM offered to reimburse up to $1600. My dealer wanted $2502.40 plus tax to replace the lights. $1000 over the reimbursement cost which made a total of almost $3000 I had to put out then wait to get back $1600. I have not replaced the lights. This is a product safety issue that is GM's problem not mine. Why no recall?

Headlights are dim causing it hard to see at night.
BACK IN FEBRUARY OF 2020 I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT STARTED JERKING AROUND REALLY BAD WHEN I WOULD EITHER UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT IN 1-2 GEAR. TOOK IT TO CADILLAC AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. WE TOOK IT TO A COUPLE OF OTHER MECHANICS AND A LOT OF MONEY LATER NO ONE COULD FIND ANYTHING. ONE DAY DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THE CAR STARTED JERKING SO BAD THAT I ALMOST CRASHED. COME TO FIND OUT THE TRANSMISSION DIED. WE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN. WHEN I DRIVE AND GET TO ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR THE ENTIRE CAR SHAFTS TO SHAKE AND JERK AROUND AND THIS HAPPENED WHEN I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR. GM IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP US. AT THIS POINT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND AND CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP RANDOMLY REPLACING PARTS ON A CAR THAT IS JUST NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT. I AM TRULY AFRAID FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY.
THE CUE SCREEN IS NOT FUNCTIONING. THE SCREEN HAS SPIDER-LOOKING CRACKS, I CAN NOT SYNC MY PHONE OR ANYTHING ELSE. I WAS TOLD BY CADILLAC THAT REPLACING IT WOULD COST 1600.00.
SCREEN JUST CRACKED.
ENTERTAINMENT CUE SYSTEM JUST STARTING CRACKING FOR NO REASON AT ALL. MY VEHICLE WAS JUST PARKED AND I CAME OUT TO MY VEHICLE AND I NOTICED THE SCREEN WAS STARTING TO CRACK AND SPREADING.
LOW BEAMS SO DIM IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I CANNOT SEE WITHOUT HIGH BEAMS ON. I ALMOST CRASHED ON A WINDING ROAD WHEN SWITCHING TO LOW BEAMS BECAUSE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. I BOUGHT NEW BULBS AND STILL NO GOOD. DID NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT FOR 6 MONTHS BEFORE PURCHASING FOG LIGHTS TO ASSIST LOW BEAMS. GM SHOULD HAVE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE LOOSES THEIR LIFE LIKE THE REPORTED LAW SUITE IN FLORIDA.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING SPEED LIMIT OF 70 TO 75 WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL CONTROL AS IF I WAS ON A SHEET OF ICE AND I TRAVELED UNCONTROLLABLY ACROSS THE ENTIRE HIGHWAY LANES INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN ALMOST INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON THE OTHER SIDE BEFORE COMING TO A STOP
INFORMATION SCREEN LOCKED UP NOT ALLOWING ME TO ACCESS CLIMATE CONTROL, RADIO, PHONE, NAVIGATION. MY MECHANIC TELLS ME THIS IS COMMON AT ABOUT 65000 MILES AND MINE JUST TURNED 66000. THE FIX IS ABOUT $1500.. ACCORDING TO INTERNET INFORMATION THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. PLANNED OBEISANCE BY GM? VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND I WAS TRYING TO GET IN PHONE MODE FROM CLIMATE TO HOOK UP HANDS FREE PHONE. NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO CHANGE MODE.

WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, I CAN'T SEE UNLESS I USE MY HIGH BEAMS, ON LOW BEAMS I CANNOT SEE THE ROADWAY. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS ISSUE REPAIR AND HOPE THAT GENERAL MOTORS WOULD HAVE TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR, I CAN'T IMAGINE A MORE IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE THAN NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY.
CAR VEERED TO THE RIGHT INTO THE GUARDRAIL THEN LOSS OF CONTROL OF STEERING, CAR SPUN AROUND TWICE AND LANDED IN OPPOSITE GUARDRAIL FACING TRAFFIC WITH LEFT REAR TIRE FACING AWAY FROM THE CAR. WE WERE DRIVING AT THE TIME ON A HIGHWAY.
THE HEADLIGHTS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WORKING DON'T PUT OUT ENOUGH LIGHT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THERE WAS A LAWSUIT CONCERNING THIS MATTER, THE DEALER WANTED US TO FRONT $2200.00.
THE LIGHTS ARE ENTIRELY TOO DIM TO DRIVE AFTER NIGHT EXCEPT WITH HIGH BEAMS ON. CADILLAC ADMITTED THERE WAS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE OR RESOLUTION EXCEPT FOR ME PAYING TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE INCREASINGLY BECOME DIMMER TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT WITHOUT USING HIGH BEAMS. I THINK THE ISSUE BEGAN AROUND THE MIDDLE OF 2019.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME EXTREMELY DIM CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE ROAD DIVIDERS. NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
