2024 Cadillac Redundant Lyriq

Defect. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 LYRIQ vehicles. The bracket that anchors the left-rear and center-rear seat belts may have been improperly welded to the seat frame.

Risk. An improperly welded seat belt bracket may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing their risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy. Owners are advised not to use the left-rear and center-rear seating positions until the recall repair is completed. Dealers will replace the rear seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N232425220.

I am submitting this follow-up to document new information and continuing concerns regarding my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq EV, which experienced sudden unintended acceleration during a parking maneuver. GM and its claims administrator (ESIS) have now completed their review and issued a denial letter on October 31 2025, stating “no defects were found.” However, the denial included no supporting technical findings, analysis, or data explaining how that conclusion was reached. Despite multiple written requests, GM has not provided the following key event-data modules: – Brake System Control Module (EBCM/iBooster) export (brake pressure, pedal position, brake override flags) – Propulsion/Drive Control Module data (torque request vs actual torque and accelerator input) – Front Camera Module metadata (timestamps and event record IDs) Additionally, several data discrepancies remain unresolved — including mismatched timestamps between the ASCM and FCM reports and camera images that do not correspond to the actual crash scene. On October 29 2025, GM publicly announced Customer Satisfaction Program N252521980, covering certain 2023–24 Cadillac Lyriq and 2024 Chevy Blazer EV vehicles for a Brake System Control Module software update due to possible brake-control performance issues. Because my incident involved loss of braking response, this recall appears directly relevant. I have requested confirmation whether my vehicle is affected and whether this module was analyzed in GM’s investigation,

THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL SINCE JUNE 2025. WE HAVE HAD THE DEALER DO THE RECALL, HAD OVER THE AIR UPDATES AND IT STILL CAUSES ALL THE ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM SCREEN TO GO BLACK AND DISABLES THEM. DEALER MSYATES ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated that while driving under 35 MPH on several occasions, the brakes were independently activated. The TPMS warning light was illuminated intermittently. Additionally, the front passenger’s side tire was flat. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that an undisclosed system software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system unintentionally engaged. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer stated that the cause of the failure could not be determined. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,400.

The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated while driving at approximately 3 MPH as she was entering her garage to park the vehicle, she depressed the brake pedal, however, the vehicle continued forward and crashed into a tool chest located at the back of the garage wall. The contact stated that the front of the grill and the front bumper were damaged and had to be replaced. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that failure reoccurred when she was parking the vehicle in a parking lot. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the ABS system had failed and caused a loss of braking ability. The contact was advised by the dealer that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V589000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact had the recall completed at that time. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac Lyric. The contact stated that the brakes erroneously activated while attempting to reverse. The contact stated that the failure occurred only while it was raining. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was suggested to deactivate the Back Over Prevention and Cross Traffic Alerts while attempting to reverse. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by the dealer. The failure mileage was 145.

The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated that while reversing from the driveway, the brake pedal was applied without driver input. The contact stated that the vehicle detected an unknown object, causing the brakes to be applied, but the contact determined that there was no object behind the vehicle. While driving at 50–60 MPH, the brakes were applied without application. There were unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The computer was reset. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but further assistance was not provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

While driving at night, my headlights will randomly aim down. Can’t see the road ahead. When high beams are activated, they blast the front of the car. Cannot see anything down the road.

Unable to see behind the vehicle in the dark. There is no backup camera image at night, screen remains black.

The auto leveling lights drift during driving. On staff up, the headlights will point up and down, then self level. However, for the past week, the right headlight drifts down towards the road and the left headlight will drift upwards after about 20-30 minutes of driving. The downward drifting headlight only illuminates about 1 car length ahead while the upward drifting headlight will point towards overhead street signs. This causes reduced visibility with increased flare and reduced headlight throw at the same time. It also is dangerous to incoming traffic since the left headlight ends up drifting upward to produce a throw similar to a high beam, even though the high beams are off. The only way to get the lights to re-level is to shut off the vehicle and restart. Even after this, the lights will only be at the correct level for about 20-30 minutes as they start to drift in opposite vertical directions while driving. There have been multiple reports of similar cases on forums discussing the Cadillac Lyriq. Since the problem only occurs noticeably after 20-30 of night driving, the dealer has stated they can not reproduce it while in their possession. There are no warning messages or codes displayed.

Within two month the Lithium ion battery failed twice. and the car was not derivable. It had to bet towed to the dealer.

Backup camera is black with lines when shifting in reverse. Unable to see to backup and almost hit someone walking behind me

While driving the 12V battery system failed as well as the high voltage charging system. The vehicle lost traction control in the rain and was slipping on the road. The forward collision detection also intermittently goes out. If you are in one pedal driving mode and using adaptive cruise control when the forward collision detection goes out it will deactivate adaptive cruise control and apply enough regenerative breaking to rapidly slow the car. If the driver does not have their foot on the accelerator when this happens and you are in traffic it could cause an accident. The vehicle is not saving any diagnostic information regarding these failures and dealerships will not work the failures without diagnostic codes.

The car has 7300 Miles on it and it has an electrical Battery error that it can not start Also multiple soft ware errors the screen turns off while driving and assist control errors

After dark, the rear camera is inactive. Also after dark, sometimes the backup lights do not come on in reverse. According to [XXX] , this is due to a defect with the rear electrical harness because an active license plate light circuit interferes with the camera and backup lights circuits. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Multiple components of our driver assistance software have failed, beyond what we can check in the fields above. Most recently, we have experienced two major failures. The first failure occurred when the car triggered the emergency parking brake on its own while we were driving in traffic at 30 mph. We narrowly avoided being rear ended. This is the incident I've detailed in the fields below. The second failure occurred when the adaptive cruise control failed to brake as we approached gridlock traffic. We again narrowly avoided collision on multiple fronts. We were going approximately 45 mph with roughly 2000 miles on the car. We have the service records, but the selling dealer and Cadillac engineering claim these issues are now fixed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? We were well within less than a car length of collision in both of the situations described above. This car is a large SUV, it would presumably cause significant damage to cars it hit. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. They verified failures and out-of-date software in our vehicle in this last service visit. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? This vehicle has been directly inspected by Cadillac engineering through our selling dealer. Were there any warning lamp

The headlamps in the Cadillac Lyriq are supposed to be self leveling, maintaining a consistent throw throughout a drive. My left headlamp droops significantly after 10-15 minutes of driving, failing to throw its beam more than 15 feet ahead. This poses a a safety risk because it decreases my ability to see pedestrians or road hazards. This has not been reviewed by a Cadillac dealer yet because it is a known issue to which GM had no current solution. There are no warning signals that appears in the car’s screen. The two pictures below show the headlamps at start up and after 15 minutes of driving. The droop in the left lamp is noticeable. The pictures were taken from the same spot and at the same angle.

Headlights start dropping as car is driven. Every 10 to 15 miles must pull car over and restart as you can not see further than a car’s length in front of you. Cycle car off and then back on the headlights return to normal for another 10 miles. Also seems that some of the individual lamps start pointing upward blinding oncoming drives even with most of the lamps are pointing down in front of the less than a cars length. Seems the headlights are making adjustments be are not correct until you do a power cycle.

Driver assist forward continues to have issues after being at dealer for issue for 4 weeks for repair After getting car back from dealer for the first three days the error did not come up. Now the error comes and goes daily. Issue happens when approaching stop lights stop signs where there is nothing in front of you starts vibrating seat and slams on breaks. Same stop sign as yesterday but today it vibrates warnings Makes not sense.
