Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V vehicles manufactured between September 6, 2003, and June 11, 2007, currently registered, or originally sold, in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, snow or water containing road salt or other contaminants may corrode the front brake hose fitting at the caliper.

Risk. Corrosion may cause the brake system to leak which could lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace both front brake hose assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on May 8, 2015. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 15149. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 10V-105.

PASSENGER AIRBAG OCCUPANT SENSOR/MODULE IS FAULTY. AFTER A WHILE, THE MAT KINKS, BENDS, OR FOLDS. DUE TO THIS IT LOSES CONNECTION AND TRIGGERS A "SERVICE AIRBAG SOON", DISABLING THE AIRBAG SYSTEM UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS IN NHTSA RECALL #10V644000, BUT FOR SOME REASON MY CAR IS NOT COVERED. IT REQUIRES REPLACEMENT WITH THE SAME GM PART NUMBER (19124390).

Electronic Stability Control (esc)

VEHICLE CUT OFF ON RAILROAD TRACK WHILE I WAS CROSSING IT,. IT WOULD NOT START, KEY STUCK IN IGNITION SWITCH AND I COULD PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, FRONT WHEELS SHAKE WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY, WHILE TRAVELING ON OPEN HIGHWAY I HIT A BUMP AND THE VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL AND STOPS. I HAD IT FIXED BY EDENTON MOTORS IN NORTH CAROLINA. THERE IS RECALL ON CADILLACS, BUT NOT ON OUR 2005 CADILLAC CTS..

THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT RE MOTOR MOUNT ( REFERENCE NO. 10732081). 6/23/2015 REPLACED LEFT SIDE MOTOR MOUNT DUE TO CLUNKING ON ACCELERATION. ON 6/28/2016 I TOOK THE CAR TO THE REPAIR FACILITY FOR THE CLUNKING, NOT THINKING IT COULD POSSIBLY BE A MOTOR MOUNT PROBLEM AGAIN. I HAVE SPENT $1006.63 TO REPAIR A PROBLEM I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. I HAVE SEEN THE TORN MOUNTS.

THE CLUTCH ON THE CADILLAC CTS V WENT AFTER 40,000 MILES. WHEN IT GETS COLD OUTSIDE THE IT CAN BECOME STICKY AND NOT FULLY USABLE. I THINK IT MIGHT BE THE HYDRALIC FLUID IN THE CLUTCH. IT SHOULD NOT GO BAD EVERY 40,000 MILES CAN LEAD TO POSSIBLE CRASH IF THE CLUTCH DOES NOT ENGAGE. I AM LUCKY HAVE NOT BEEN IN A CRASH DUE TO THE PROBLEMS I AM HAVING WITH IT.

Reading this record

No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.

Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.

Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.
