TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 BMW 220I (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF STEERING ABILITY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE STEERING COLUMN MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE NOT PROVIDED.
