Defect. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: BOOSTER SEAT, MODELS 960 AND 961 (WITH BACK). THESE SEATS DO NOT MEET THE CHEST ACCELERATION REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 213, "CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS."

Risk. IMPROPER PLACEMENT OF THE SHOULDER BELT PORTION OF THE VEHICLE'S BUILT-IN SAFETY HARNESS SYSTEM CAN RESULT IN EXCESSIVE FORCES ON THE CHEST OF THE BOOSTER SEAT OCCUPANT, INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.

Remedy. A REVISED INSTRUCTIONAL BOOKLET WILL BE PROVIDED TO OWNERS OF THESE BOOSTER SEATS.

DT THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A LOUD TICKING SOUND. FIRST NOTICED THIS PROBLEM ON NOVEMBER 24, 2002. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH. THE CONTACT TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY DID THE RECALL REPAIRS, BUT DEALER STATED THE LOUD TICKING SOUND CAME FROM THE TURN SIGNAL AREA. SOON A STARTING THE VEHICLE ONE COULD HEAR THE TICKING SOUND JUST AS IF HAD PUT TURN SIGNAL ON, BUT IT WAS AN EVEN FASTER TICKING SOUND. THE CONTACTCONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, THEY WERE OF NO ASSISTANCE. *AK
