In addition, the contact noticed that when the vehicle was stopped, the engine idled rough and loudly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

This complaint is NOT for a problem that has occurred. This is a complaint about the refusal of Acura (Honda) to perform the necessary inspection & potential repairs associated with Recall Report # [XXX]; potential connecting rod bearing issue. The intitial recall was issued in 11-2023 with instructions to await receipt of a letter from Acura in Spring 2024, instructing me to schedule an inspection appt with an Acura dealer for inspection. I have called a local dealer several times over the last month & been put off for inspection appt due to "lack of parts". Today, [XXX], I was told by the dealer (Maus Acura of Tampa, FL) that no inspections would be performed until "the Fall" of 2024 per the direction of Acura, unless my vehicle was currently experiencing an issue. "An issue" was defined as a loud repeated knocking noise from the engine, whose repetition is in direct relation to the engine rpm's. I was also told that the bearing inspection is not actually performed locally, but by Acura corporate based on pictures taken by the local dealer. Only then would they decide to: 1) replace rod bearings, or 2) replace the engine. I was told to expect another letter from Acura in the Fall of 2024 directing me to schedule an inspection. At this point, it appears Acura is using a delaying tactic to avoid repairing a potentially dangerous defect, at the expense of my safety. This is in direct conflict to the intent of a Safety Recall. Switching gears is weird sometimes and sport plus mode revs engine

Complete engine failure occurred. Certified Acura dealership inspected and confirmed connecting rod failure was the cause. Vehicle was no longer operable. The vehicle had to be towed to the original dealership for repairs, a new engine was the remedy at the consumers expense. Vehicle was being driven at the time of engine failure, which put the safety of the driver and others at serious risk. This recall is overly delayed and has caused a financial burden along with the safety of many individuals. It needs to be remedied.

UNKNOWN/ active recall

I took my car to an Acura dealer because there was a noticeable increase in engine noise upon starting and at lower engine rpms. The dealer identified that the problem was related to a recall - NHTSA # 23v-751. He also informed me that it may be 3-4 months before Acura is ready ro rectify this problem. The problem has serious consequences and I would like Acura to rectify it much sooner.

Multiple warnings occur on information screen. 1. Transmission system problem. 2. Blind spot info system problem. 3. Electric parking brake problem. 4. Emissions system problem. Transmission begins to slip and behave radically. RPM rev above normal as if it can't upshift. Dealer recently did service on transmission and replaced module. Also had recall service completed for stalling at intersections/full stop. Vehicle has had transmission issues throughout our ownership. approx. 6 yrs. bought used from dealer.

I was driving, and my car started slowing down smoking under the hood with a loud noise under the hood like a knocking sounds. Then I heard a loud bang. Paid a tow company to tow my car to the shop mechanic found a large hole in the block. Last oil changed was 03/16/2023. I called acura to see if a recall had been reported after learning about other people having the same issues. It didn't seem normal for a car to blow a block that had oil in it and only 99,000 miles on the engine. Now my car is in the shop and I have been paying to get the engine replaced. I recently got my rotors replaced and the car stutter while braking. Also, this happened before I replaced rotors.. the transmission is slow and won't shift to merge highways. I don't know if its the transmission or the brake lines.. I guess it's the transmission trying to drop gears for engine braking and it starts stuttering.

The emissions control warning come on every now and then.. and it goes by it self I have my car completely stock. No modifications... The emission control light come on the dash following parking brake system problem.. I have file another complaint on another form...and it goes away by itself.. I've check with my dealership and they have not responded me yet

Upon braking, when coming to a full stop, the transmission (ZF 9-speed automatic) makes a very hard downshift into 1st gear and causes the car to lurch forward. This issue appears to be worsening over time. The car is becoming more and more difficult and dangerous to drive due to this issue. The car was very recently brought into an Acura dealership (DCH Montclair Acura) to address this issue. They replaced the transmission fluid and conducted a general software update, but this issue continues to persist as before.

My check airbag light came on. Also, when I'm driving, my car stalls in the middle of the road and is unable to move, and it keeps doing that. And it does not have a check engine light, but it keeps stalling.

The contact stated while driving at various highway speeds, the transmission randomly shifted into the neutral causing the vehicle to lose automotive power, decelerate, and failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. During the failure several messages were displayed including the "Transmission Failure" message. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission shifter was faulty, and a transmission computer software update was needed. The vehicle was repaired; however, immediately after retrieving the vehicle, the failure reoccurred. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Unknown- Check TPMS System, Check Parking Brake System, Check Brake System, Park light, all came on and stays on. While driving car shut off multiple times, speed will reduce, car will hesitate and jerk when trying to pull off from stop light.

For some time now, before I was aware of this service, my car warning lights indicate that there is an issue with my forward collision, my lane departure, and the lane keeping assistance. It further indiscretion to clean my front windshield. I do so, but the warning still remains. Then some time will pass and the warning goes off. This warning happens sporadically, even giving impression of some hesitation while accelerating, and other times with drag when breaking. I made mention ofv this concern once to my dealership, but they said because it was now out of warranty, the check for the problem world cost $200. But now after reading of similar issues with other cars on this site, I will pursue a check on it.

My car shifts itself into neutral automatically at times while I am driving. It has even happened on the interstate. When this happens it also flashes lots of warning signals on the dash and will be stalled for 4-5 minutes, engine will not shut down, just cannot shift into reverse or drive. The Acura dealership had it all day and they were stumped so they did a software update. I have read this exact problem has happened with other Acura's this same year and model and it was crimped wiring harness of the transmission.

The cars dash lights all keep coming on and I lose all power to the vehicle while driving. Check engine light and serveral others will illuminate and continue to flash the warning signs. Car takes what seems like forever to then get back into gear and drive. All of the lights stay on even after shutting the car off and turning back on.

The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 56,000.

While driving approx 65 mph on a freeway the vehicle placed itself into neutral and decelerrated as multiple warnings flashed across dashboard. . . “Emissions System Problem”, “Transmission System Problem”, “Electric Parking Brake Problem”. I was able to pull off to the side of an exit ramp but once I put the car in PARK I could not shift into Drive. I could not safely drive/manuever my vehicle to a safer area putting myself and child at risk of being hit. I turned the car on/off multiple times to attempt to shift into Drive, but to no avail. I called the nearest Acura dealer which was in the next town over from where I was stranded. After many failed attempts I was able to put the car in Drive and move my vehicle to the closest road and off to the side but with the warnings still flashing. The last successful attempt I was able to put the car in Drive again and without any further warnings flashing on dashboard. Drove 20 minutes to the nearest Acura Dealer and was charged $300 for the diagnosis and update of 3 systems. Informed DTC Code P0657, actuator supply voltage circuit/open, was found prior to system updates: Transmission Control Module Update, PGM-FI Update, and ABS System Update.

The car was in motion then shifted into a different gear . I didn’t have have control of the gears. A digital “check transmission” warning flashed on the car dashboard. After 2 hours I removed the terminal from the battery in order to move the car. The car stopped in the middle of the road during this problem. Someone could've hit me from behind with my children in the car . One car was close enough to hit me but ended up swerving into a ditch to avoid hitting my car . I spoke to Marietta Acura Dealership in GA and was told there was no recall on my car .

Visa transmission light engine light the car jerks when driving. Puts itself in neutral

First item: vehicle keeps shutting off during idle while parked or while brake is depressed. It has happened multiple times. I've done some research and see there are several sites indicating issues with the fuel pump and vehicle stalling. Acura says there are no current recalls. I'm not the only person this is happening to. Second issue: vehicle has gone into neutral on its own while driving. At first I thought maybe I hit the neutral button by mistake and didn't think of anything but then the most recent was coming out if a gas station and pulled up to a stop sign and it went into neutral. I just bought this car on June 1st.

While driving, the vehicle shift into neutral unexpectedly, causing the transmission indicator to come on and OTC. Was going downhill when it happened but luckily I got off the road and went into a residential neighborhood to park. It was left on Neutral and could not shift to any gears. I put the emergency brake so the car wouldn't move down. I later found out after the car was towed that I was able to shift gears due to turning off the vehicle. P0657 was the code provided when it was scanned by an OBD2. VIN# 19UUB2F33FA014519

This issue is with the start-stop system. The car fails to restart after it the car stops and the engine shuts off. The car has been serviced twice for this issue. The battery and a cable were replaced at my expense. This resolved the issue for a few months, but it returned again in February of 2022. The battery was replaced under warrantee at that time. This issue has now returned again July, 2022. In at least two of the instances I felt I was extremely at risk as the car was stalled in busy intersections forcing traffic to make emergency stops be hind me or take evasive actions to avoid hitting my car. The normal starting procedure to start the car did not seem to work. There was nothing to indicated to me that there was an issue.

Consistent issue with the auto idle start stop system. This has been a continuous problem during the life of the car. It has happened while stopped at traffic lights, in traffic and while in the drive thru line at fast food restaurants. As a deterrent, I try to remember to disable the auto idle start stop every time I start my car.

Car has feature that kills engine when at full stop. Car fails to automatically restart, often stalling at intersections and causing a dangerous situation. Car has to be turned off and restarted, a process that can take 15 to 30 seconds. With a brand new battery and/or full charge, the car performs flawlessly. It appears that the electrical demands of the car system exceed the ability of the battery and alternator to meet demand. I currently have an AGM battery less than two years old. We typically have 1 to 3 incidents per month where will forget to disable the auto start system, and the car stalls in busy traffic when at a full stop. We bought the car used in 2017, and this problem has been consistent throughout ownership. Dealer answer is that there is nothing wrong with car.

The contact stated that the vehicle remained running however, failed to respond to the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact coasted the vehicle safely to the side of the road. The contact disconnected and then reconnected the battery and the vehicle regained normal functionality. The vehicle was driven to the residence and then to the dealer. The dealer found no failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V640000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

I have owned this car since new, this is not the first time this has happened. The car has an auto idle stop feature. Which when certain contains are meet and the car is at a stop it will turn off the engine. When the brake pedal is released, (and from other factors) the car will restart the engine so driving can resume. The issue that I am reporting is that the car does NOT restart, the engine is dead. The driver has to press the engine start button a few times while trying to get the car started. This has happened to me more than 6 times over the life of the car. In each situation replacing the battery resolved the issue.

I was merging on to the freeway going about 60mph, with traffic right behind me. Car started decelerated and the dash board lit up. A car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me. I put on my hazard lights and tried to move to the shoulder the car was only going about 5mph at the time. I turned the car off and restarted to see if it would move, but it was still going about 5mph. After doing this a couple of times I was able to get the car the move at about 20 mph. The dash board is still lit up.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Recall Campaign Number 16V64000(POWER TRAIN). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 70,400.

As I was driving on major road the car shift from drive to neutral with all these problems flashing at me with not any warning signs. I was scared and I am scared to drive my car.

While driving on a highway the car lost all power and every dashboard light came on and started blinking. Car wouldn’t shift gear and lost all power abruptly! I almost caused a horrible accident and this has happened at least 10 times now and I’ve only had my car a year!!!!

TRANSMISSION IS JERKING WHEN ITS SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO SECOND REALLY HARD.CAR FEELS LIKE IT SHIFTS,LUNGES FORWARD.WHEN GOING DOWNHILL ITS RPM GOES TO 4 TO 5 THOUSAD RPM.VERY UNSAFE .THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ASAP!!!!!!!

On a number of occasions, a warning light came on stating "Passenger Airbag Off". Each time there was someone (usually my adult wife or daughter weighing 112lbs to $125lbs respectively) sitting in front seat in a correct position. The issue was first noticed about 2+ years ago. I had mentioned this to our dealership during an inspection but there was no firm explanation to the cause, or if it was really serious or not. They seem to indicate it was just a sensor glitch and that if there was a crash the system would work properly. I am not sure if they tested the car with a person in the front seat, and if they did, they may not have reproduced the issue because it doesn't happen with every drive. It happens sporadically. This issue happened again last week on a major interstate highway in the middle of a long drive with my wife in front seat. Again, the warning light came on "Passenger Airbag Off." About 15 or 20 minutes later it went off during the drive. Fortunately, there were no crashes, and therefore no injuries with any of these occurrences. Today I received a NHTSA safety recall notice from Audi of America on my 2nd car, which is a 2016 Audi A3, prompting me to make this report. The Safety Recall is 69BY - Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS). (NHTSA: 21V198). This Audi safety notice describes "perfectly" what is happening with my 2015 Acura TLX. As in this report, the issue is sporadic, but happens fairly frequently when someone is in the front seat. Perhaps the

The contact had initially taken the vehicle to an unknown dealer in West Virginia which has since closed, and a software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. As the failure became more frequent, the contact drove the vehicle to another dealer where the mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The contact was also informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000 (Fuel System, Other) which the contact linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

The fuel pump appears to be malfunctioning. The car is basically inoperable when driving in any other mode besides Eco. From 10/5/21 - 11/19/21, I’ve filled my fuel tank 11 times and never received any errors or warning messages. I am willing to have the vehicle inspected to confirm by Acura.

The gears are very jerky i got this tlx at 70k miles and its been jerky ever since. Car looses power when turning from stop the steering get hard sometimes. Transmission chirping noises.

Car brake warning lights will flash when there is nothing in front of me, car keeps braking and losing power while driving on freeway for no reason.
