2026 4-Star Trailer Horse Trailer Gooseneck

Saturday April 4th While driving the trailer (fully loaded with equipment, no horses) back to [XXX] from [XXX] , the trailer's brakes completely failed. There was no indication of the failure until I was unable to stop at a traffic light and was pushed all the way through the intersection. Thankfully, there were no other vehicles in the other direction, so there was no accident. I was able to get the trailer back to a local 4 Star dealer, and the diagnostic was a failed hydraulic brake pump, resulting in a complete failure of the trailer brakes. The hydraulic pump was replaced, and the brakes worked normally afterward. The trailer was driven back from [XXX] to [XXX] on April 7th and was not used again until May 7th. Thursday, May 7th to Sunday, May 10th The trailer was driven with (4) horses to a horse show approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes away from our PA barn. The trailer performed normally with no issues. The trailer was parked in trailer parking from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon, the horse trailer was hooked up and loaded with (4) horses, and we started making our way back to our home barn. At the time of departure, the horse trailer was operating normally. After roughly 20 minutes of driving, we came to a traffic light and were unable to stop the trailer; the trailer brakes were not responding.
