PULLING TRAILER ON A SMOOTH 2 LANE ROAD, THE TONGUE BROKE OFF. I SLOWED MY TRUCK DOWN AND ALLOWED THE TRAILER TO RUN INTO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK TO SLOW IT DOWN. I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE FAILED PART. THIS IS AN ALL ALUMINUM TRAILER WITH AN ALUMINUM TONGUE. THE TONGUE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TRAILER AND INCLUDED THE SAFETY CHAINS, SO THE TRAILER WAS FREE. NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
