2022 Mercedes-Maybach S 580

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 S 500, Maybach S 580 4MATIC, 2021-2023 S 580 4MATIC, 2022 S 680 4MATIC, and 2023 S 580e 4MATIC vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

Risk. A brake fluid leak can extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025030007.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2023 S580, and Maybach S580 vehicles. In the event of a mechanical failure in the engine Camtronic system, the engine control unit (ECU) software may cause the engine to overheat or stall.

Risk. An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash. In addition, an engine that overheats can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will update the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 15, 2024. Owner notification letters will be mailed in phases, on November 15, 2024, January 10, 2025, and February 21, 2025. Owners can contact Mercedes-Benz Customer Service at 1-877-496-3691. Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2024 GLE, GLS, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, GLC, CLS, AMG GT, and G-Class vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle details. The fuel pump may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power.

Risk. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 28, 2024. Owner notification letters will be mailed in phases, on February 23, 2024, April 19, 2024, June 28, 2024, August 9, 2024, October 1, 2024, and December 2, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 23V-445.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Maybach S580 and Maybach S680 vehicles. The 12-Volt ground connection in the trunk may not be secured properly, which can impair the electronic stability program (ESP) or result in the ground connection overheating.

Risk. Impaired electronic stability control can increase the risk of a crash. An overheated ground connection can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair the 12-Volt ground connection, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 22, 2023. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2023080008.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Maybach S580 vehicles. Trim parts on both front seats may detach during rear air bag deployment, which can damage the air bag cushion or cause the air bag to deploy improperly.

Risk. Improper air bag deployment can increase the risk of an injury.

I have had two separate incidents where the automatic braking system engaged causing vehicle to come to a complete stop almost causing me to get rear ended by another vehicle. The first time there was no sign of a vehicle in the front of me. It happened at about 55 miles an hour on the expressway. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and they claim they haven't had any issues so they download some new software and said that should take care of the problem. The second time happened today. I was entering a roundabout at 15 miles an hour (there was a vehicle about 15 feet ahead of me) my vehicle suddenly stopped (vehicle behind me hit their brakes almost hitting me). I emailed the dealer a video clip of the incident but have had no response at this point. I have lost confidence in the safety of the vehicle at this point. I have a dash cam video I can send if needed.
